West is expanding in Williamsport!
This is an exciting time at our Williamsport location! West is hiring nearly 100 new positions, an injection molding manufacturing site with high-speed assembly capabilities. We are hiring now through early 2026 for positions at all levels, including Supervision, Office, Technical and Entry Level.
Interested candidates should live within 50 miles of the Williamsport location.
Job Summary
Perform metrology and inspection for mold approvals, SPC studies, design of experiments, project evaluations, machine and process qualifications, or other metrology requests as required by the engineering group or manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Measure and visually inspect new and existing product per established procedures or as instructed. The results will be used to evaluate new projects, materials, equipment, process, etc., and may result in the acceptance or rejection of that process or product.
- Assist in or establish a method for measuring, evaluating product dimensionally or functionally.
- Dimensionally, visually and functionally evaluate product from the capability studies/PQs, DOEs/OQs, material evaluation, investigations, machine and process qualifications, product from new projects or customers to determine compliance to specifications as well as the variability of the process/product.
- Prepare inspection reports with applicable data and statistical documentation for DOEs/OQs, capability studies/PQs, material evaluations and other related operations.
- Maintain lab preventive maintenance program in accordance with prescribed procedure assuring that tasks are completed to schedule.
- Develop and maintain accurate record systems.
- Participate in validation activities as needed.
- Inform Metrology Engineer of discrepancies or potential problems that could negatively impact quality systems, product efficacy or safety conditions.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
- Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.

Additional Responsibilities
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
Work Experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency through literacy testing.
- Must be familiar with computers and various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel. Master Control and Mattec a plus.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control, blueprint reading and use of measuring/testing equipment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- May use Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Superior verbal/written skills.
- Previous engineering experience.
- Formal qualification in engineering or engineering apprenticeship, and quality control systems and procedures.
- Experience in conventional toolroom machinery (mills, lathes, etc.)
- Knowledge of SPC and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with QMS auditing.
- Familiarity with rubber compression molds.
- Ability to abide by all regulations, ethics and compliance policies, work procedures, instructions, and all safety and quality rules.

- Moderate standing, twisting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking. Must be able to work with items weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
- Ensure that the company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies and other safety regulations are upheld throughout the site, reporting any irregularities to your manager.
- Report near miss accidents or incidents at the earliest opportunity using the appropriate documentation.
- Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Be compliant with any machine instructions, and responsible for the proper use of all equipment assets within the work area. Ensure that your work area is always kept clean and tidy.
