Job Summary:

Plans and directs all aspects of the site Engineering team, ensuring conformance with quality standards and support of new business opportunities. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives and processes are in conformance with Pharmaceutical Delivery Systems’ established policies and objectives meeting financial, quality, customer, and employee objectives. Demonstrates strong leadership and communication.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute engineering strategic plans and policies for assigned business unit(s).
  • Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes a technical staff according to work requirements.
  • Leads engineering staff to ensure best in class facility, equipment, automation, tooling, engineering and maintenance standards, which align with site strategic objectives
  • Partner and/or liaison with Design and Quality to ensure the smooth and timely transfer of new products into operations and assist in the optimization of processes, procedures and products.
  • Reviews design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinate’s activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Oversees and evaluates design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Oversees technological research and implementation for engineering innovation
  • Drives operational engineering excellence within site to achieve critical engineering goals, that deliver projects & initiatives on time, on budget and withing specified requirements
  • Recruit, train, develop, and lead staff to accomplish goals, adhere to policies and establish/maintain a cGMP culture.
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Promotes a continuous improvement culture through the application of lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline including Biology/Microbiology, Chemistry or Engineering
  • Graduate degree (MS) preferred
  • 11+ Years of experience

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of two (3) years’ experience writing, executing and summarizing protocols
  • Knowledge of FDA, cGMP, ISO and Clean Room standards
  • Knowledge of validation of automated assembly, software, and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ISO standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills and be able to function independently or as a member of a team
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
