Job Summary: Performs production mold set-ups, auxiliary equipment installation/disconnect, frontline technical monitoring & response to machine alarms, part defects and in-service mold cleaning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review mold setups, cleaning, venting and teardown and part sampling to ensure proper compliance to procedure and part integrity.
- Install, monitor, clean and remove auxiliary equipment to injection molding machines as needed by production scheduling or Process Engineering
- Assist Engineering Technicians with corrective action necessary to resolve machine alarm issues.
- Use control panel data and practical experience to do minor troubleshooting on machines, loader systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Coordinate with Supervisors/Leads on the status of machines, equipment and process control efforts for daily production and special instructions to maintain productivity.
- Identify and resolve potential safety hazards in the work area.
- Act in accordance with the company’s Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.
- Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training and regulations.
- Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures and corporate policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
- Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and environment at all times.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High School or Equivalent
- Equivalent Experience – One to three-months plastics manufacturing in injection molding experience. Preferred 1-3 years experience with fundamental mechanical skills, i.e. mechanic, repair, drafting or electrical or mechanical assembly.
- Experience: Less than 3 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read write and communicate and comprehend and follow written procedures, container labels and safety precautions.
- Knowledge of simple arithmetic calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers in percent and decimal numbers.
- Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble simple mechanical components associated with auxiliary equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels in the organization.
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Knowledge of FDA regulatory guidelines, cGMP, and ISO requirements preferred
- Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

Physical and Travel Requirements
- Manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments if necessary. Occasionally required to work on different shifts
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods
- Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet.
- The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds
- Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate objects, tools or controls.
