Job Summary:

Oversees Materials system to ensure that resin/materials are dry and set-up on time for all mold changes. To ensure that dryers and hoppers are cleaned and maintained according to production standards.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure materials are dried allowing mold changes to continue with no lost time according to schedule and job requirements.
  • Verify that the proper material is being used before starting up a job.
  • Mix material when necessary and as directed.
  • Place material in designated locations for jobs using non-dried material.
  • Ensure all tops are on covering gaylords, bins, bags, etc.
  • Properly maintain material identification board as necessary.
  • Purge material lines through from old material / clean material hopper. Load up new material.
  • Performs air blow (manual clean) of material line with cleaning ball.
  • Maintains, repairs, or replaces damaged gaylords, bags.  
  • Ensures all material and hopper cards are properly filled out.
  • Report any discrepancy between MFG Pro and actual material amount on hand. 
  • Report any lost material due to contamination, spills, etc.
  • Set and maintain all dryer temperatures on dryer hoppers.
  • Repair and maintain all damaged flex hose lines for material and vacuum lines. 
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the technicians, supervisors, and process engineers on Material related issues. 
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste within the production environment.
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and environment at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High School or Equivalent
  • Experience: Less than 3 years
  • Minimum six months prior materials experience. Experience with cGMP, ISO, and medical device manufacturing preferred.
  • Three months related safe material handling experience with general-purpose material handling equipment, i.e. forklift, pallet jacks etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

 

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments if necessary.
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from various locations within facility. 
  • If specifically necessitated by customer requirements, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues. 
  • Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet. 
  • The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds  
  • Limited, if any, travel requirements.
