Job Summary:  Provides administrative support to the Human Resource Manager on all personnel matters and assists with payroll processing.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll
  • Responds to routine employee requests for HR information about benefits, policies, procedures, and use of HRIS
  • Organize and coordinate all onboarding and orientation activities.
  • Assists new employees with new hire paperwork, collects all necessary forms, sets up files for new personnel, and processes new hires in the HRIS.
  • Responsible for the completion and input (HRIS) of employee related documentation, including, employee status changes, pay or job changes and other confidential employee data.
  • Partners with the Human Resources Manager and other Departments to develop and execute company strategic initiatives
  • Assist HR Manager regarding employee relations issues and recommends actions which are consistent with corporate policies.
  • Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (review applications, phone screens, coordinate interviews).
  • Maintains employee personnel files and safeguard confidential information. 
  • Lead and assist in the preparation of various plant functions, (i.e. philanthropic initiatives, employee events, etc.)
  • Assists with all aspects of Labor Law Compliance, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, and EEOC
  • Adhere to Company policies and follow training procedures at all times.
  • Use good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area.
  • Adhere to all federal, state and local laws regarding Labor, Wage and Hour regulations.
  • Supports HR projects cross-functionally, as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules and safety procedures. 
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s
  • Experience: Less than 3 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Labor and Industrial Relations, Management, or related field (Preferred)
  • Two years of Human Resources experience
  • PHR, SPHR certification (Preferred)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Proficient in word, excel and various data entry
  • Knowledge of HRIS and payroll processing
  • Understanding of benefits administration and provide comprehensive support to the organization
  • Knowledge of current labor related Federal, state and local statutory regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in both verbal and written formats
  • Excellent organization, administrative and creative problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
