Job Summary:
Manage and supervise the Manufacturing Maintenance department and Manufacturing Engineering department. Responsible for the overall coordination, direction, and evaluation of these departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide technical support to all shifts of manufacturing maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineer(s) and engineering technician(s).
- Oversee technical support and training for all manufacturing equipment.
- Provide support for the facilities maintenance group as necessary. Work with the entire staff to insure a solidified chain of command in the plant.
- Plan/develop annual spending budget and capital spending plan for the facility’s manufacturing equipment.
- Interface with Production Development Engineering to implement new projects into manufacturing.
- Approve requisitions to maintain flow of spare parts, materials, and supplies.
- Interpret company/plant policies, procedures, and rules for workers while enforcing safety regulations.
- Assist workers in interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders as well as understanding their assigned duties.
- Recommend measures to improve production processes/methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Respond to customer quality issues as needed; may include travel, communication of response, and oversight of a resolution to address the root cause of the quality issue(s).
- Initiate and/or facilitate process engineering evaluations as needed for assessment of manufacturing equipment. The results of these evaluations could include implementation of new technology to improve process.
- Suggest changes to the work environment improve safety and increase efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.
- Direct and/or facilitate the validation of equipment/processes within the facility.
- Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and environment at all times.

Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s
- Experience: 6-10 years
- Five years related experience in diagnosing and maintaining injection molding and injection molding machines AND five years of technical management.
- Understanding and experience applying Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing principles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to directly supervise up to 10 employees who are managers/supervisors/professional staff in the engineering/maintenance area
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels in the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees.
- Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Office.
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

Physical and Travel Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job in the manufacturing environment, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the plant/manufacturing environment is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required at all times while working in the plant.
