Job Summary:

This role is responsible for driving the highest standards in Operational performance aligned with the Business Key Performance Indicators (KPI), e.g., Health & Safety, Quality, OEE, Absenteeism, Customer Satisfaction, Value Stream, Financials COPQ, etc. Key to the role will be the manager's ability to share knowledge/learning and drive improvement in the value stream in charge. Implements process improvements, optimize factory layout for manufacturing and supports Kaizen events to improve product flow, reduce defects and improve cycle time.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Value Stream Managers of SmartDose and associated key performance indicators to develop value stream roadmaps for process improvement
  • Ability to cooperate with the execution of the SmartDose project portfolio according to plans as scheduled and on time
  • Drive and lead the use of lean and six sigma tools and techniques in everyday problem solving and process improvement activities
  • Employing continuous improvement tools and lean methodologies (5S, TPM, AM/PM, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, Standard Work, and Kaizen) to identify value stream improvement opportunities
  • Install, promote and drive a process-driven continuous improvement culture within existing businesses and establishment of appropriate structures and systems to deliver value to the customer
  • Provide and drive long-term solutions & error proofs to existing process-related issues to prevent reoccurrence
  • Recommend measures to improve production processes/methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Overseeing Kaizen events, including identifying team members, preparing agendas, conducting training, implementing improvements, and creating/tracking measures
  • Must have good communications skills to engage all levels of the business and the ability to simplify the complex technical language in simple, short, accessible mediums that provide credibility and understanding to the associated activities.
  • Ensure the plant complies with OSHA and local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Ensure that the value stream in its entirety is FDA ready at all times

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Lean Sigma essential concept understanding any Belt level certification will be a plus


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2-5 Years of experience in medical device development and manufacturing. Leading and managing a diverse team in a fast-paced and highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience with process improvement execution and facilitation
  • Proficiency with Minitab or similar statistical software applications
  • Ability to gather and analyze data sets from multiple sources, including SAP, QAD, Power Bi, and other plant or ERP systems, to identify opportunities and accurately assess situations
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, production equipment, and industrial techniques
  • Must have good project management skills, practical problem solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities toward delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company's safety policy at all times
  • Able to adhere to the company's quality policy at all times.
  • Ideally, have injection molding and tooling knowledge/expertise.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An ability to lead in matrix structure multiple projects on time to budget.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly focused/organized mindset.
  • Fluent in English.
