Job Summary:

In this role, you will apply industrial engineering fundamentals for the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes/systems, capacity expansions, and process optimization initiatives within various manufacturing sites.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Lead the incorporation of appropriate lean manufacturing tool usage such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, cycle time studies, line balancing, and standard work into the daily functions of the value stream teams.
  • Lead capacity planning processes by managing data collection, capacity modeling, analyzing and prioritizing capacity improvements.
  • Develop and present factory layout designs.
  • Supports various manufacturing sites with root cause and corrective action (RCCA) of process failures, continuous improvement initiatives, and product-related opportunities.
  • Analyze data for problem solving, validation, and identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Interact with the manufacturing and business teams to define key performance metrics and create systems for monitoring performance.
  • Use simulation tools to perform "what-if" analysis to support planning for the impact of changes in operations.
  • Promote and support a lean manufacturing environment within all sites.
  • Provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BS in Engineering or other technical degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant engineering or operations role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Experience with data analytics and statistical process control.
  • Experience leading lean manufacturing events and large projects.
  • Knowledge of best practices in manufacturing processes, workflows, production equipment, and industrial techniques.
  • Self-initiator, ability to work with ambiguity, multi-task, and a passion to grow and develop.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Experience in medical device industry or other regulated industry.
  • Experience designing and updating layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Experience developing data collection systems, reports, and dashboards.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Light – exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of force greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
  • Proven ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Make independent and sound judgments.
  • Multitask, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritize.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to maintain confidentiality and resolve conflicts and ambiguity.
  • Use written and verbal communication skills effectively. Maintain clear communication paths with stakeholders, providing routine project review updates as needed.
  • Read and interpret data, information, and documents to analyze and solve problems.
  • Solves complex problems analyzing possible solutions using standard methodologies, procedures, experience, judgment, and precedents.
