Job Summary:

 

The Program Manager will lead and be the interface in delivering best-in-class program management practices and solutions. Operationally responsible for the introduction or change management of new products, processes, and business initiatives locally and globally.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures that programs are introduced into the company in a manner that is compliant with the appropriate regulatory requirements and consistent with West’s policies and procedures (e.g., validation, change management)
  • Establishes best practice with regards to processes and procedures for the structuring and introduction of new products, processes.
  • Establishes strong and trusting relationships with all stakeholders in pursuit of excellence and program deliverables e.g., customers, suppliers, colleagues.
  • Has the capacity to work through complex problems in support of solutions and / or mitigations.
  • Ensures program governance and cadence are implemented and followed.
  • Communicates on a regular basis to the project and management teams and customer representatives as appropriate to provide regular feedback on performance or challenges.
  • Acts as a coach / mentor to the team through program execution and support to talent development.
  • Act in accordance with the company’s Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training and regulations.
  • Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures and corporate policies.
  • Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

 

  • Ideally qualified to degree level in science, engineering or business with at least 5 years’ experience in managing complex projects.
  • Ideally will have a formal qualification in Project Management such as PMP (Project Management Professional as awarded by the Project Management Institute)

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Must have experience of working in a fast-paced, innovative and highly regulated manufacturing operation, ideally in the medical, packaging or technological industry sectors.
  • Must have the ability to manage cross functional and matrix teams locally.
  • Must have significant customer facing experience.
  • Must have strong numeric and solid grounding in financial reporting.
  • Must have knowledge and be at ease working with all related computer systems and software associated with the role e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft project.  Ideally will have ERP system experience e.g., SAP.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks; must be detail orientated and self-motivated.
  • Must be able to deal with all levels of employees and work across various departments.
  • Must be able to work independently on own projects while working concurrently with all departments.
