Job Summary:

Provides maintenance of plastic injection molding (PIM) machines and auxiliary equipment. Completes troubleshooting and repair of real property equipment, fixtures, alarm systems and assists with fabrication and installation of support requirements for new and changing projects. Performs typical maintenance tasks to support production and the plant-wide facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reference machine operation and maintenance manuals to perform scheduled and unscheduled periodic maintenance and/or cleaning of equipment and machines.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Identify and resolve potential safety hazards. Perform simple troubleshooting for blown fuses, circuit breakers, pressure leaks, etc.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on the building and/or grounds as required. Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair real property utility systems and components. Services real property equipment, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Assist with installing and moving office furniture, modules, supplies, and/or appliances as directed.
  • Perform screw cleans, sweating copper, cut and lay PVC pipes
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste within the production environment. Advises management on significant maintenance trends affecting the facility and proposals for improvement.
  • All interactions, work flow, productivity levels, and quality standards are implemented with a “Customer Service” approach to both internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.

Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Education or Equivalent Experience: High School or equivalent
  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years of experience

  • None

 

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments if necessary. Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from offices and building sites. If specifically necessitated by customer requirements, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues. Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react May stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must transport oneself to and from other areas of the facility and travel to other divisions when necessary. Must have good visual acuity. If specifically necessitated by customer requirements, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues. Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear audible alarms from distances up to 150ft.
  • The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds for manufacturing positions or 30 pounds for administrative positions is required.
