Job Summary:
In this role, you will be providing engineering support to ongoing manufacturing operations as well as supporting the fielding and commissioning of new automation systems that surround plastic injection molding presses and assembly cells.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interact with production personnel to define and resolve manufacturing issues
- Implement cost reduction ideas; participate in Lean initiatives and process improvement activities
- Conduct risk analysis and develop risk mitigations actions
- Utilize SAP Enterprise Resource Planning platform to perform investigations of complaints and audit findings based on customer or auditor concerns in tandem with the quality team
- Ensure the timeliness of maintenance on all assigned equipment and maintain proper documentation thereof using SAP
- Interact and manage vendors concerning parts or equipment they supply or propose to supply
- Interact with customers on a limited basis concerning engineering or production topics
- Prepare RFP (request for proposal) and RFQ (request for quotation) documents
- Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc.
- Participate in engineering and general design review as required
- Interact with internal groups including purchasing, quality, production, accounting, tooling, and assembly
- Keep manager advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments. Prepare project plan, schedule, budget, and interim reports
- Champion and promote the use of Six Sigma skills in the execution of projects
- Be aware of and conform to all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and site safety rules
- Exhibit regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline from a four-year college
- Experience: 0-3 years of experience
- Mastery of Microsoft Suite products
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical components
- Proficiency in verbal and written English is required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience in medical device manufacturing is preferable
- Previous experience with injection molding is preferable
- Some experience with robotics is preferrable
- Working knowledge of SAP is preferrable
- Working knowledge of Ladder-Logix programming is preferable
- Working knowledge of Solid-Works is preferable
- Proficiency with pneumatic and hydraulic systems is preferable
- Strong communication skills are preferable
- Six-Sigma and Kaizen familiarity is preferable
- Familiarity in cleanroom procedures is preferable

- Must be able to lift 15 pounds
- Must be capable of multi-tasking as needed
