Job Summary
Supervise production processes and personnel in assigned field. Responsible and accountable for adherence to procedures, proper production, quality, maintenance, safety and schedules on assigned shifts; promote effective team member/Company relations to help improve customer service and Company profits. Understanding the relationship of departments surrounding manufacturing ie: Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day procuction activities of plant products at the most economical cost consistent with prescribed qualit standards in a timely manner.
- Promote all site initiatives including plant safety programs, lean initiatives, training programs, etc., and consistently interpret and apply all HR policies, practices and procedures among our plant personnel.
- Assure Standard Operating Instructions and Good Manufacturing Practices are adhered to.
- Participate in the resolution of employee complaints and personnel or performance issues and/or coach employees to encourage teamwork. Routinely evaluate and review employee performance. Perform counseling with employees in regard to job performance, attendance, etc.
- Manage available resources to ensure on time production and delivery of customer orders to run the business efficiently.
- Verify production data is accurately recorded.
- Maintain and verify accuracy of the hours each employee has worked through Kronos.
- Ensure & support the smooth startup of new processes and on-going production in all area departments.
- Maximize capital resources and assist in maintaining equipment and facilities in proper working conditions.
- Constantly evaluate existing processes and establish teams to continuously improve these processes.
- Support lean and engineering initiatives, providing constructive feedback.
- Performs other duties, as assigned based on business needs.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
Additional Responsibilities
- Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
- Be able to work weekends to support production needs based upon order volume and customer requests.
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in technical or business-related fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, finance, supply chain, engineering or math required.
Work Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills Moderate knowledge of computer programs and SPC applications
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target Able to always comply with the company’s safety policy
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times
- Looking to gain experience within the company to become/take on engineering role or roles within different departments internally.
