Compensation: Starting at $20.12 / hour + $1.00 / Shift Differential

Job Summary:

Perform a wide variety of press operation duties including machine setup, adjustments, troubleshooting, line clearing, and PM’s. Responsible for maintaining tool cleaning maintaining production schedules.  Will assist in resolving process related problems.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Make mechanical adjustments to the press/die and troubleshoot quality defects
  • Verify and adjust parameters i.e.  molding times, mold surface temperatures, gaps, bumps, or speeds, feeds and lubricators
  • Prepare and maintain tooling for production i.e. aqua line, CO2, perform visual checks, dimensional /functional checks, clean and clear dies/molds as needed
  • Maintain a tooling schedule i.e. mold cleaning schedule, update upcoming die changeovers schedule
  • Perform in process control checks i.e. run samples for analysis
  • Perform capabilities i.e. mold capabilities, on center checks or die approvals
  • Maintain Vacuum System i.e. PM’s, drain vacuum lines, unclog when required
  • Perform line clearances
  • Adjust steam or air regulators.
  • Operate die carts and forklifts, install, and set up dies/molds in presses
  • Promote and support a Lean Manufacturing environment within the facility
  • Evaluate existing processes and work to continuously improve these processes
  • Use applicable gaging and inspection equipment
  • Work from prints, sketches, sample parts and verbal or written instructions
  • Prioritize according to production schedule   
  • Verify parameters of press
  • Complete necessary production records and requisitions for materials/ supplies
  • Verify production data is accurately recorded
  • Maintain production job packets accurately
  • Remove dies from presses, clean and store.  Peen dies when needed. – Maintain a set peening/grinding schedule as required
  • Perform trim check/visual inspections for operator
  • Detect and report operating difficulties and/or specific problems to Supervisor
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Use good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Manage, Lead, and perform all duties to promote quality and customer satisfaction.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of press related experience
  • Qualifying scores on mechanical (Bennett), verbal and math comprehension tests 
  • Some basic computer skills required i.e. using Microsoft applications List any required certifications 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Yellow Belt or equivalent certification
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 2 % of the time

 

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs. continuously and up to 75 lbs. occasionally

Competencies/Authorities

  • Non-US only where required for certain levels
