Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Global Communications & Marcom, AP is responsible for leading proactive internal and external communication campaigns to support West’s business objectives. This role includes significant responsibilities in branding and marketing communications (Marcom) alongside traditional media relations, positioning West as a leader in the industry and an employer of choice to drive business results. The Senior Manager will also serve as a designated media spokesperson for trade and local media in the Asia Pacific region.
The Senior Manager will report directly to the Director of Global Communications and will have a matrix reporting line to the AP Leadership Team, working closely with the GM of Emerging Markets. This position collaborates extensively with colleagues within Global Communications, Marketing, and HR.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee the execution of a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy for the APAC region to enhance West’s brand visibility and market presence in APAC
• Support key functional leaders by providing strategic communications counsel on crisis communications, internal and change-related communications initiatives, public relations and marketing communications
• Devise and execute communication strategies that effectively utilize company digital channels including website, blogs, social media and intranet
• Collaborate with the regional and country marketing teams to create and distribute compelling marketing materials and digital content that align with the company’s branding strategy
• Manage branding initiatives at the regional level and ensure brand consistency across all communication channels
• Work with Global Communications and Corporate Philanthropy Team to build West’s reputation in the industry as an employer of choice and community partner
• Produce compelling and relevant multi-channel stories, rooted in our company purpose, priorities and values
• Mentor junior members of the Global Communications Team
Basic Qualifications:
• Degree in Communication (Public Relations), Marketing Communications and Journalism.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience in Communications with increasing responsibility in a matrix and MNC environment with at least 3-5 years of people management experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Top tier writing skills
• Management of strategic PR and internal communications programs in partnership with integrated marketing programs
• Ability to remain focused, connected and driven in a remote working environment
• Budget management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Travel Requirements:
• Up to 25% of domestic/regional and occasional global travels
