Job Summary:
In this role you will be in the permanent afternoon shift (2pm to 1030pm) and involve in routine and non-routine laboratory testing, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment in compliance to cGMP. You are required to ensure a continuous supply of laboratory operating items and proper laboratory housekeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing of finished products according to respective test procedures, compendia methods and YBB standards.
- Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in, or conduct, investigations of lab tests (e.g. out-of-specifications, deviations).
- Maintenance of chemicals and consumable inventory.
- Ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of all chemicals used in the lab.
- Proper documentation and data entry of all test results.
- Ensure all quality documents are properly filed and maintained according to SOPs.
- Report all non-conformances and equipment failures to Chemist.
- Perform routine housekeeping in designated labs and active participation in 5S.
- Ensure compliance to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Follow laboratory safety rules, regulations and standard operating procedures required for the task assigned.
- Support in audit preparation.
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science
- Advanced Diploma / Diploma in Chemical Process Technology / Polymer Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry with minimum of two years relevant laboratory experience
- NITEC/Higher NITEC in Chemistry or related science
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills; able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal manner.
- Good computer skills.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team.
- Good understanding and awareness of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
- Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
