Job Summary:
In this role, you will collaborate and lead HW related activities in the Regulated HW and SW team, working on existing and future electromechanical medical devices and drug delivery systems.
You are required to demonstrate creative skills in a dynamic environment along with hands-on engineering attitude. You are expected to participate in the development of multi-disciplinary products involving electronics, software and mechanical design. The position requires knowledge and experience in electronics development for mass production and high reliability, including component selection, circuit and board design and the creation of detailed schemes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Development and design of analog and digital electronics for medical devices and supporting tools using the medical industry standards.
- Possess deep understanding of the complete product cycle of hardware design from requirements, design level block diagrams, power estimation, board design, simulation, component selection, Schematic design, Validation of Layout & Gerber, Test report, Risk Analysis.
- Perform engineering testing, define product specs and support HW verification.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Perform HW failure investigations and write reports.
- Write protocols, tests methods and create presentations related to design activities and perform necessary studies using various lab equipment.
- Procurement of commercial off-the-shelf components and interact and manage vendors concerning parts, services, or equipment they supply or propose to supply.
- Support industrialization and manufacturing activities.
- Keep manager advised of all work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of analog and digital HW design experience.
- Proficient with electronic CAD tools (Altium, OrCad, xSpice) and Microsoft Office products.
- Good English communication and writing skills.
- Extensive hands-on board design experience.
Preferred Knowledge, languages, Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive hands-on experience with System on a Chip (SoC) like BLE, NFC or similar RF communication channels.
- Experience and knowledge of motor control.
- Knowledge of signal integrity.
- Working knowledge of programing using Embedded C for various SoCs / Microcontrollers in the market
- Working knowledge of communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, etc.
- Excellent hardware debugging skills with the aid of advanced laboratory equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with high flexibility and rapid response time.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic. utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems related to general & technical aspects of the job. Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, policies, and business practices to achieve results.
- Knowledge in PCB manufacturing processes and limitations.
- Experience with integrating electromechanical components and sensors.
- Experience with medical devices design and medical industry standards.
- Experience with verification tests.
- Experience with writing design requirements, protocols, test reports etc.
- Cooperative, “Team Player”, responsible, thorough, and committed to timelines.
- Able to always comply with the company’s safety policy and quality policy.
- Experience with mass production.
- RF knowledge.
Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Physical Requirements: Light – exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects.
