Job Summary:

 

The L&D Supervisor provides day-to-day direction to a team of Learning and Development Specialists located at several manufacturing sites within the greater Phoenix area and across the network. The L&D Supervisor reports to the Contract Manufacturing & Devices Global L&D Manager. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages Learning & Development Specialist team through daily work activities or projects and monitors performance to ensure maximum productivity. 
  • Acts as a local representative in global working teams to apply global processes for the learning management and individual skill development in the area production sites. 
  • In collaboration with area sites leadership, develops a learning strategy for the area production sites, which is aligned with global West people strategy and in line with local skill building requirements; independently manages the execution of local learning strategy.  
  • Manages the design of effective training programs and develop training material as well as train and mentor production trainers. 
  • Leads efforts to standardize learning strategies and projects across all AZ sites and the network. 
  • Partners with site HR and leadership to anticipate demands on L&D Specialist time and resources.
  • Oversees the development of area sites New Hire Orientation training based on the needs and direction of the organization, plans for resource intake and balances requirements across all area sites.  
  • Oversees continuous improvement of critical competency curricula and assessments for re-qualification/certification throughout the area sites. 
  • Manages and assists in the designing and development of specific learning solutions for the sites and departments using proven design methodology, project management techniques and blended learning delivery options. 
  • Acts as senior L&D representative at area sites audits where required. 
  • Consults, educates, and coaches team members in their current role(s) and prepare them for next steps within the organization. 
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to co-workers and local stakeholders in all L&D matters. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs. 
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules. 
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

 

  • Education: ​Bachelor's in​ in Org Development, Human Resources, or, Learning and Development or equivalent work experience is required 
  • Experience: ​8-10 years of experience​ in a similar role in an international environment with an emphasis on supervising a team.  
  • Previous experience using a learning management system (e.g., SuccessFactors LMS) and cGMP. 
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, etc. 
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs and work instructions as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of learning and development tools and processes 
  • Pharmaceutical Industry experience would be a big plus. 
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences. 
  • Ability to effectively work at all levels of the organization, flexible mindset.  
  • Participate in project work at local and global levels.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Solid relationship management, political savvy and influencing skills necessary.  
  • Ability to work independently, including managing own workflow and deadlines, with ongoing attention to ever-changing priorities and stakeholder needs. 
  • Aptitude and desire to learn new competencies and skills. 
  • Ability to facilitate a group to meet an objective. 
  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects

 

Travel Requirements:

 

  • The L&D Supervisor will be expected to visit all Phoenix areas sites regularly as part of job responsibilities.
  • Up to 5% travel outside of the region.
