Job Summary:

 

This opening is for a 2nd or a 4th shift:

 

2nd shift Sun-Tues 5:30pm-5:30am & Wed 5:30pm-11:30pm

4th shift Wed 11:30pm-5:30am & Thu-Sat 5:30pm-5:30am

 

In this role, you will assist with the incoming flow of raw materials and parts to meet production requirements and on-time shipments. Assist with purchases for the Business Unit to efficiently plan and produce components according to customer requirements. Maintains adequate inventory levels. Procures and expedites materials and services.  Obtains quotes, generates, and processes requisitions as applicable, and maintains related records.  Plans and establishes production work schedules to meet delivery times.  Initiates work and purchase orders and follows up on work in progress to ensure conformance to schedule.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs material purchases; purchases related tools, equipment and supplies in accordance with the company policy; generates purchase order numbers.  (For a P1 level, I would take this out)
  • Establishes and maintains all master files with the coordination of the Materials Manager.
  • Schedules production and samples; determines run times; ensures the on-time delivery of finished goods. Assists in the resolution of internal and external complaints of purchased raw material.
  • Assists in controlling the level of raw material and finished goods inventory and effectively updates and tracks supplier on-time delivery in conjunction with annual supplier performance evaluations.
  • Helps Establish internal and external relationships to ensure production efforts meet the customer requirements.
  • Generate MRP (material requirements plan) to assist in determining material requirements for production.
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Required high school diploma or GED equivalent. Some college or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 0 - 3 years related experience. Must have experience with ERP (Enterprise
  • Resource Planning) system and purchasing functions. Experience with cGMP purchasing practices and ISO experience preferred.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments if necessary. Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from offices and building sites. The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds for manufacturing positions or 30 pounds for administrative positions is required.
