Job Summary

This role is a fully remote position and needs to reside in the EU, (ideally in Germany, Italy, Europe, Ireland, France).

 

This role is responsible for leading, executing and managing business development efforts to support the Services and Solutions growth strategy across all segments. The role will drive new customer opportunities for Combination Product and Device Solutions, including Self Injection, Safety and Administration Systems, Contract Manufacturing, and value-add services such as regulatory support, analytical testing, and fill-finish enablement. The job holder will serve as an SME for all West Device offerings and be held accountable for financial results relevant to generation, review, and approval of Development Agreements in defined regions within Europe. This position will also support opportunities in AP in partnership with AP market Unit. This position will serve as a significant role in the generation of the strategy for Services and Solutions evolution within West, and as the business expands in general.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive new business development for West Delivery Systems and Contract Manufacturing solutions for direct assigned accounts, and achieve revenue growth targets for development and commercial product sales
  • Lead business development efforts for West Combination Product Solutions, including West device development, contract manufacturing, regulatory support, analytical testing, fill-finish enablement, and other value-add services
  • Effectively manage customer opportunities as the SME for device services offerings, for all direct assigned accounts and regions
  • Shape and design strategies for customer specific pricing, engagements and development and supply agreements, while including all creative high value business models
  • Support global strategy development for device platforms and services across all Market Units
  • Provide collective customer feedback and practical insights for the definition of target markets, performance characteristics, specifications and market needs
  • Maintain expertise in combination products/medical device regulations and standards for Human Factors
  • Collaborate with Marketing to understand unarticulated market and customer needs and provide communication with R&D teams globally
  • Generate, execute the segment specific commercialization of new products & services including sales training, market communications, sales tool development, and tactical efforts
  • Provide internal & external field support for the commercialized and development portfolio of proprietary products. Device focus with responsibility of New West Innovation and Technologies
  • Provide support to the execution of key strategic Product Development initiatives to support the overall business objectives.
  • Establish working knowledge of West Device offerings including SmartDose, SelfDose, CZ Primary Containers as well as safety systems and other device related services
  • Develop relationships with key decision makers and influencers at critical customers to drive adoption of West systems and services
  • Provide input and content with Corporate Communications on relevant product communications including articles, social media content, literature, advertisements, digital content, tradeshows and sales tools for new and commercialized products

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Business-related discipline
  • Master's Degree MBA or master's degree preferred

Work Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in B2B, Combination Products, Business Development, Product/Program Management with at least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/medical device sales and/or marketing required
  • Background includes a good technical understanding and knowledge of Combination products, medical device qualification, primary packaging, Regulatory requirements and Program Management preferred

  • Excellent communication/negotiation skills and strong customer focus.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and ability to work independent with little or no daily supervision.
  • Background includes a good technical understanding and knowledge of Combination products, medical device qualification, primary packaging, Regulatory requirements and Program Management.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver high quality, accurate work within the required timeline.
  • Formulation and implementation of strategic direction.
  • Team player actively contributing to positive team spirit.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer and partner relationship management skills.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times.

Travel Requirements

30%: Up to 78 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
