Job Summary:

  • Manage a production team in compliance with safety rules, good manufacturing practices, quality standards and the objectives defined by his/her hierarchy.
  • Lead a production team and ensure its development.
  • Ensure upward and downward communication with the production team and his/her hierarchy (represents West’s management)
  • Analyze situations and implement preventive and corrective actions accordingly.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage a production team in compliance with safety rules, good manufacturing practices, quality standards and objectives defined by his/her hierarchy:
  • Ensure compliance with the rules
  • Carrie out training, informs, audits and controls
  • Respect and enforce the internal regulations and legal requirements
  • Manage the activity and ensures the performance of his/her team
  • Understand and uses the indicators
  • Contribute to the performance of the department
  • Carries out an efficient transfer of instructions
  • Anticipate the needs of the next team (line emptying, cleaning, format changeover, etc.)
  • Manage the production flows
  • Ensure communication and alignment with upstream and downstream processes
  • Identified the priorities
  • Adapt resources and activity to avoid flow blockages of plan production changes
  • Ensure the conformity of the products
  • Ensure safety
  • Participate in investigations and makes proposals
  • Lead a production team and ensure its development:
  • Ensures the level of training
  • Ensures the training and qualification of his/her staff to the instructions, standards, trades, etc.
  • Lead the annual training sessions
  • Contribute to the updating of the skills matrix of his/her team
  • Manage requests for training and development of his staff according to the needs or the EP
  • Monitor the performance of his/her team members
  • Carrie out annual interviews and regular feedbacks
  • Propose development plans, promotions and means of recognition
  • Propose and organize requests for versatility within and between departments
  • Manage social relations with the help of his/her manager and HR, if necessary he/she manages conflicts
  • Contribute to the preparation and may participate in interviews and in the implementation of appropriate actions
  • Ensure the interviews of re-accompaniment
  • Ensure the readjustment in case of deviation
  • Recognize the performance of his/her team members
  • Develop skills and careers
  • Manage the personnel according to the production schedule (absence requests, etc.)
  • Organize the breaks
  • Follow the counters and the planning by using the SAP GV software
  • Alert on the need for temporary workers
  • Lead, inform, listen to his team and confronts them if necessary...
  • Lead team meetings and is present in the field
  • Ensure upward and downward communication with the production team and his/her hierarchy :
  • Transmit the objectives and communicates the results of quality, performance, HSE...
  • Conduct weekly micro meetings and transmits information
  • Ensure that the message is understood
  • The incumbent is the relay of the department manager and West’s management
  • The incumbent is the relay of his/her team


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Training experience in mechanics, computer science, statistics, quality, tools of Continuous Improvement (Bachelor’s degree + 10 years experience or master degree + 3 years experience)
  • English language:  operational

  • Ability to handle multiple files at the same time
  • Ability to listen, dialogue, diplomacy with a great availability
