Job Summary:

Being responsible and accountable for the procurement for the West facility in Kinston, including supplier selection, ordering, follow-up, process and inventory control for all production supplies for day-to-day operations, while ensuring that internal customer requirements for materials/goods and services are achieved in a timely manner at the lowest total cost and in direct conformance with the policies and procedures of West.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for seamless, smooth provision of the goods and services supply of the West facility in Kinston.
  • Understand and have a basic knowledge of the regional landscape of the supply market for goods and services in terms of supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends and cost drivers.
  • Find and implement strategic sourcing solutions previously unknown to West, or previously known but not actioned.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers with limited support by management. Understand and negotiate the structure and terms of common contracts and business models in the Americas region.
  • Identify and assess risks and benefits of sourcing decisions and present proposals to mitigate risks collaboratively, ensuring sustained product supply-quality-compliance.
  • Act as first contact point if problems with suppliers arise. Coordinate resolution of supplier performance issues with moderate management support.
  • Contribute to the annual budget process by providing reliable cost estimates and realistic forecasts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and all safety rules.
  • Ensure adequate protection of confidential information and documentation. Restrict access to confidential information. Ensure that key operational and essential documentation files are properly stored.
  • Monitoring SAP/MP2 system daily and updating. Monitoring MP2 Purchase Order Journal for purchasing needs. Receive stock and non-stock items in the MP2/SAP system.
  • Service needs of maintenance and plant personnel. Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
  • Perform cycle count assigned areas and post to physical inventory in MP2/SAP system

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School or GED Required
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Certification from the Institute of Supply Management (C.P.M.), Project
  • Management or similar experience preferred

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years (Assoc) 3 years related business experience required
  • Minimum 3 years (Assoc) SAP Experience or other major ERP required
  • Minimum 3 years (Assoc) of progressive business experience in sourcing/supplier/category management or related functions, preferably with chemical industry or pharmaceutical industry background preferred
  • Minimum 3 years (Assoc) Medical device manufacturing experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years (Assoc) Supplier and contract management experience preferred

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have great interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills to adequately analyze and interpret complex business situations.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated and the ability to influence, motivate and mentor others and be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Strong in attention to detail, time management, versatility and hold accountability.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
