Title:  Controls Specialist - (8 Hour Night Shift)

Shift Hours: (3:00PM - 11:00PM)

POSITION SUMMARY: Program, repair and/or conduct PMs on all types of equipment and drives focusing on the controls systems of our operating equipment. Participate in the decision-making process regarding the specification, testing, installation, and validation of these controls systems. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Trouble-shoot and repair equipment, drives and control systems of all types.
• Install and evaluate new control technologies as required.
• Conduct/perform periodic PM work on all these drives and controls systems.
• Document all work performed on plant equipment.
• Recommend improvements to plant equipment and/or the manufacturing process as required.
• Train and guide the work of plant maintenance technicians regarding the control’s aspects of our operation.
• Safeguard all corporate or plant confidential information.
• Create and maintain interest in the plant safety program and look for areas of improvement.
• Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs, such as, validations.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
• Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School or equivalent
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience
• At least four years relevant, hands-on work experience including experience with software and PLC systems (particularly Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems.)
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and controls diagrams.
• Strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Ability to train and guide the work of lower skilled mechanics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• AAS degree preferred in electronics, electrical and/or a technical area (i.e., an engineering discipline)
• State Career Readiness Certificate at the Silver Level.

• Minimal.
