Title: Controls Specialist - (8 Hour Night Shift)

POSITION SUMMARY: Program, repair and/or conduct PMs on all types of equipment and drives focusing on the controls systems of our operating equipment. Participate in the decision-making process regarding the specification, testing, installation, and validation of these controls systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Trouble-shoot and repair equipment, drives and control systems of all types.
- Install and evaluate new control technologies as required.
- Conduct/perform periodic PM work on all these drives and controls systems.
- Document all work performed on plant equipment.
- Recommend improvements to plant equipment and/or the manufacturing process as required.
- Train and guide the work of plant maintenance technicians regarding the control’s aspects of our operation.
- Safeguard all corporate or plant confidential information.
- Create and maintain interest in the plant safety program and look for areas of improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs, such as, validations.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
- Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School or equivalent
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience
- At least four years relevant, hands-on work experience including experience with software and PLC systems (particularly Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems.)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and controls diagrams.
- Strong mechanical aptitude required.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to train and guide the work of lower skilled mechanics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- AAS degree preferred in electronics, electrical and/or a technical area (i.e., an engineering discipline)
- State Career Readiness Certificate at the Silver Level.
