Job Summary:

Leads and controls activities of all warehouse personnel. Ensures shipping, receiving, storage, production and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Oversees inventory analysis and cycle counting functions and makes adjustments as necessary.  Coaches and develops all warehouse personnel.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the warehouse in a neat and orderly manner to comply with GMLs; manages cleanliness to address changing business needs and reduce issues found during Gemba walks.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates warehouse personnel.
  • Ensures the security of the warehouse and access to facility through the strict adherence to all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Use ABC cycle counting to accurately assess inventories per procedure. 
  • Conducts accurate inventories per procedure.
  • Coordinates the flow of materials through the facility to ensure prompt supply of materials to production area.
  • Ensures safety and welfare of all warehouse team members, ensuring compliance with all company safety practices and programs.
  • Safely handles, stores, and disposes of all hazardous waste materials.
  • Coordinates the most cost effective and efficient means of transportation for both incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Identifies and discards expired materials.
  • Monitors freight invoices for accuracy.
  • Ensures necessary paperwork and computer transactions are accurate for incoming components and finished product within the warehouse area.
  • Maintains all applicable training documentation; ensures that instructions for the warehouse process and procedures are relevant and updated when necessary.
  • Promotes and supports a Lean environment within the facility.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

 

  • Basic Qualifications: 
  • High School Education
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products (Project, Word, Outlook, Excel)
  •  Experience with MRP and ERP systems, SAP preferred
  •  Dependable, detail oriented, able to multi-task and think creatively under pressure
  •  Ability to communicate effectively with clear, concise and organized information, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to define goals and objectives for a group(s) aligned with overall business strategies
  •  

 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s in field of Business or Supply Chain, 5 or more years of progressive warehousing, supply chain and leadership experience may be substituted for educational requirements.     

 

 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Medical component and device manufacturing requires strict adherence to standards. Working environment is a manufacturing facility. Must tolerate fumes and from various manufacturing processes
  • Must work constructively in an environment that may be stressful due to competing resources while at all times maintaining company confidentiality. Must maintain the ability to work well with others in a variety of situations. Must be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, prioritize and problem solve
  • Must be able to work scheduled work week, plus overtime and/or irregular hours as required to complete assignments
  • May need to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Must transport oneself to and from other areas of the facility and travel to other facilities when necessary
  • Must have good visual acuity. Must be able to see with or without corrective lenses for safety issues
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills, interpretation of data, interpersonal skills, ability to work on and lead teams. Use written and oral communication skills
  • Read and interpret data, information and documents. Ability to make independent and sound judgments. Observe and interpret situations, analyze and solve problems

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, climbing, lifting (<50lbs), and other physical tasks associated with maintenance tasks
  • Work outside, inside, in hot or cold environments
  • Follow procedures, learn new tasks, understand and remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions, hold difficult conversations with team members
