JOB SUMMARY

 

In this role, you will lead the cross-functional Management Team in driving and delivering on short and long-term financial and operational objectives to capture business potentials in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, fulfilling strategic plans aligned with West’s Asia Pacific Regional & Corporate Strategy. The incumbent will also maintain a collaborative relationship with the operations team, including the manufacturing plant in Sri City, AP providing support and guidance as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Lead all aspects of the business strategy for India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, including ownership of P&L, customer/partner alignment, business & strategic planning, operations management (including the Chennai manufacturing plant), budgeting, forecasting, and goal setting. Tailor strategies to address the unique market dynamics and regulatory environments of each country while maintaining overall regional coherence.
  • Be accountable for the development of country and regional business plans that are fully aligned with Regional and Corporate strategy and feed into the Regional marketing planning process in a timely and appropriate manner. Continuously evaluate and adjust plans to respond to changing market conditions and emerging opportunities within the region.
  • Oversee the successful governance of West's strategic global alliances with partners in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Focus on deepening partnerships and exploring new strategic opportunities that align with West’s long-term objectives.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams/resources in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in the development and execution of strategies that will result in profitable growth in accordance with West objectives. Promote cross-country collaboration and knowledge sharing to enhance the effectiveness of the regional team.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to manage the business effectively with optimal support. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at local, regional, and global levels to ensure alignment and support for regional initiatives.
  • Partner with Regional Functional Leaders to build an optimal, effective, and integrated Regional Management Team in implementing localized initiatives in support of corporate goals, meeting both current and future business requirements. Encourage innovation in the adaptation of global strategies to local markets, ensuring relevance and impact
  • Create, foster, and drive a culture of accountability and high performance within the regional organization. Instill a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the regional organization.
  • Assess and develop individual talent effectively, creating value from performance management, development planning, talent planning, and succession planning, and lead a development culture.
  • Ensure provision of appropriate training/development solutions for all direct reports to enhance individual and Regional Management Team performance. Continuously monitor market trends and adjust the commercial strategy to stay ahead of competitors and meet evolving customer needs.
  • Own the commercial strategy for the region, establish a personal industry presence, interact with, and manage relationships and influence key customers/stakeholders/key market partners.
  • Foster strong corporate relationships, ensuring the development and execution of key account and market plans for India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
  • Manage with high ethical standards, both personally and within the team:
    • Ensure high ethical standards are always maintained.
    • Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, and internal policies and procedures.

  • Extensive commercial management experience
  • Minimum 8 years in large business unit/ segment and/or country cross-functional leadership team management experience with multinational company (MNC)
  • B2B is highly preferred.

  • Experienced in developing effective strategy and vision
  • Experience in Emerging Markets: Extensive experience working in or managing businesses in emerging markets, particularly in South Asia, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these regions.
  • Cross-Cultural Leadership: Ability to lead and manage diverse teams across multiple countries, with a strong emphasis on cross-cultural communication and leadership.
  • Change Management: Experience in leading organizations through significant transformations, including restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, or digital transformation initiatives. Proven track record of building and driving growth through changes
  • Regulatory Compliance: Expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments and ensuring compliance with local, regional, and international regulations.
  • Digital Transformation: Experience leading digital initiatives, including the adoption of new technologies to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer engagement, and drive innovation.
  • Experience in key account management as well as selling, marketing, presenting, negotiating, teamwork, project management.
  • Experience in managing performance, coaching, and developing leaders
