Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Global Compensation is a compensation business partner role that is aligned to an operating unit(s) or function(s) within West. Individuals in this position support the overall Enterprise structure as the main point of contact for all matters related to compensation programs. The individual in this role will support HR Business Partners and the organization to enhance our ability to attract, engage and retain team members with a cost consciousness focus, while ensuring alignment with our Total Rewards philosophy, best practices, business strategies, and financial objectives. Programs include job leveling and pricing of roles, leading the annual compensation planning for the client group, managing and supporting incentive plan assignment and communication, along with deployment of corporate driven plans. This role will work closely with H&R and business leaders, Finance and IT to deliver on objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- As a member of HR Total Rewards, you will contribute to the overall strategy, design, integration, communication and execution of all elements of Compensation
- Support business HR and Leaders with all matters related to Compensation, while working with Finance and IT to facilitate that delivery
- Monitor the effectiveness of compensation programs and assess against local markets and recommend plan revisions as needed
- Lead annual compensation planning for the client group
- Participate in the planning and set-up of annual compensation planning to ensure business representation in the process
- Subject matter expert for client group matters pertaining to executive compensation, sales compensation, broad based compensation (salaried + hourly)
- Develop and lead HR and team member education regarding compensation
- Maintains a working knowledge of legislation that may affect compensation policies, including regulatory pay transparency and pay equity practices
- May have people management responsibilities (1 - 2 individuals)
- Assist and guide annual salary survey participation, analyze results and be an active participant in the development and deployment of related West HR systems and processes
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field required
Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years Compensation or Human Resources required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to achieve results in a matrixed relationship by influencing peers and non-peers alike
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to align compensation goals to the needs of the business
- Must have effective decision-making/critical thinking skills and be creative and results-oriented
- Strong change management experience required
- Excellence in customer focus: Ability to collaborate, consult and partner with HR and business leaders, act with a sense of urgency and produce result
- Demonstrated executive presence and presentation skills, both written and oral, are required
- Demonstrated ability to support concurrent work assignments, with capability to balance and prioritize critical actions
- Ability to apply global business acumen and mindset to solve complex business problems
- Advanced level MS Office skills are required
- Ability to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times
License and Certifications
- Human Resources\Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
