Job Summary:


Our new and growing team in glass systems is linking scientific and technical leadership in the industry with delivering technical support and solutions, grounded on science, to be the scientific destination for the pharmaceutical industry. We are realizing this through proactive engagement in various industry associations, and delivery of technical solutions right into our customers’ mailboxes, together with their drug/packaging development department or at their filling lines.  


This new team will be generating scientific content to support the glass systems product offering. A system and processes will need to be created and maintained to assure that the scientific content is managed in a fluid manner and is easily retrievable. The scientific content will include internal and external documents. You will support the creation and editing of training material and other internal and external communication materials. You will review and edit the glass system’s scientific communication to achieve high-quality scientific content, data accuracy, and completeness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a management system for all documents, files, and other materials produced by our team or external publications
  • Support the creation and editing of training material, presentations, publications, blogs, success stories, and other communication materials
  • Review and edit scientific communication to achieve high-quality scientific content, data accuracy, and completeness
  • Develop internal & external training concepts
  • Define and optimize internal and cross-department workflows with a focus on efficiency and added value to the teams
  • Develop and maintain a process for document life cycle management
  • Support the preparation of materials and logistics for meetings, conferences, training events, or other events to ensure events run smoothly
  • Supporting the preparation of quotes, POs, organizing & shipping samples to ensure a smooth realization of projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in a technical field such as Chemistry, Biology or Engineering
  • 5-8 years of experience in technical support, technical or medical writing, or any other scientific area

Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Sound knowledge of scientific terminology, medical, pharmaceutical, and research concepts
  • Sound skills in scientific writing, grammar, spelling
  • Ability to handle scientific & technical content with legal and regulatory understanding
  • Ability to effectively communicate and comprehend complex ideas and concepts
  • Must be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritize
  • Ability to make independent and sound judgments
  • Adaptable to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, balance priorities and workload and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Ability to maintain high attention to detail, accuracy, and overall quality of work and be extremely structured, detail oriented and accurate
  • Adept in word processing, spreadsheets, tables, presentations and graph generation
  • Capability to work well in a matrix environment with R&D, QA, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Product Management, Technical Customer Support, Sales, Marketing, Product Technology Service, and Global Communications
  • Awareness of West’s products and services, GMPs and regulatory policies, and relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Ability to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times
  • Very reliable, team-oriented, proactive and goal-oriented

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
