Job Summary:

Professional responsibility in the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment and services for the entire organization with the objective of ensuring purchases meet the exact requirements of the end-user and the company specifications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create purchase requisitions for direct and indirect materials utilizing SAP S4 HANA software system
  • Execute materials requirement planning for Analytical Services
  • Place standard orders that do not require additional approval
  • Execute stock transfer procurement for West materials
  • Perform daily unpacking, inspecting, labeling, and stocking of purchased items
  • Posting receipt of Lab purchases utilizing SAP ERP and LIMS systems
  • Initiate master data request and update MRP data in system for new material purchases
  • Monitor orders status and contracts including following up with suppliers for confirmation of details
  • Maintain certificates of analysis for standards, reagents, gases, and other purchased goods
  • Regulate ordering based on consumption to determine appropriate inventory levels to meet demand
  • Assist in researching new vendors and comparing competing suppliers
  • Maintain up to date and precise records of orders, shipments, inventory, and reports
  • Determine when purchased items are damaged or unusable
  • Ensure purchased products are always in compliance with company policies
  • Track delivery dates and report any issues with purchases or delivery
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing reports, records, and updated price lists
  • Interact with suppliers daily to develop mutually beneficial relationships
  • Evaluate monthly spending and report out to management as required
  • Work with Lab Operations to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Perform end of month reconciliation process to ensure all expenses are recorded in proper accounting period
  • Responsible for authoring and reviewing functional procedures for needed updates for assigned area
  • Provide functional documentation and support to internal, regulatory and customer audits
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a life science discipline (Chemistry, Forensic science, or Biology)
  • Minimum 5 Years of experience in SAP Purchasing
  • APICS Certification is a plus

  • cGMP or cGLP Experience
  • Effectively communicate with vendors, customers and team members
  • Make informed decisions in regards to critical processes
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement programs and activities to improve operational efficiency
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 0 % of the time

 

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Job related activities require physical activity such as lifting, standing, bending, visual acuity
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
