Job Summary:

In this role, you will create, manage, and edit technical publications/documents/information (e.g., technical reports) with particular emphasis on quality/readability. This role will be responsible for managing the storage/use of project-created technical information and support the creation of technical information that promotes West business, e.g., enhanced market position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and drive West business through creation and management of external-facing technical and scientific information
  • Collaborate across the enterprise, working cross-functionally (e.g., Strategic Mktg.) to support use of newly created content for demand generation
  • Create, manage, and edit technical publications/documents/information (technical reports, technical bulletins, white papers, technical summary reports, regulatory-required information, posters, presentations, blogs) – assure timely execution of same
  • Manage database of project-created data and study reports and digital storage/use of same
  • Track, manage and communicate project timelines, progress, status, budgets, dashboards, and resource loading
  • Support conception, design, and execution of commercially oriented projects
  • Inspire, coach and mentor junior team members to enable their capabilities to create, manage, and edit technical documentation
  • Contribute to scientific review process through reviewing content for quality and readability purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience. Record as author of external publications preferred.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong science and study outcome understanding and ability author and edit high-quality to create high-quality technical publications
  • Understanding of, or ability to learn, West technologies and business strategies to enable representation of technical information and project tracking
  • Ability to survey literature, conferences, etc. and extract information relevant to West business (opportunity and threat) promote strategy based thereon
  • Expertise, or ability to develop expertise, in West processes for document creation/management
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in managing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to serve as a member of Scientific Review Committee
  • Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Ability to participate in industry-related councils
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to >5% of the time
