Job Summary

  • The Corporate Development team plays a crucial role in driving the strategic growth agenda of the company through various initiatives including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic alliances. The role involves extensive financial modeling, market analysis, and project management to support decision-making and execution of key corporate initiatives
  • In this role you will work closely with our deal leaders and Executive Team to facilitate the analysis and execution of inorganic opportunities for West. This role will be instrumental in supporting the market evaluation, target pipeline development and analysis, due diligence, integration planning and execution phases of strategic acquisitions. It reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Development and works actively with Senior Leadership to deliver global strategic inorganic growth. This role is tasked with executing against target opportunities by working on the end to end spectrum from identification, deal modeling, integration planning and execution.
  • The position will work regularly with colleagues from around the globe and will require travel when needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Operating Units in identifying and evaluating potential partnership opportunities and to provide targeted insights, experience-based observations, and EBITDA and cash improvement opportunities to guide investment determinations
  • Conducting financial analysis and valuation of potential acquisition targets and evaluate potential synergies and integration plans, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, comparable company analysis, and merger consequences analysis.
  • Performing due diligence, including financial, legal, risks and operational assessments.
  • Conducting market and competitive analysis.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams and coordinating efforts across departments (finance, legal, operations, etc.) to execute transactions and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate transaction integrations across all functions to ensure delivery in partnership with Corporate Development and other key stakeholders
  • Participate in pipeline review to provide insight into future M&A integration delivery needs, budgeting, strategy, and resource planning to achieve successful outcomes
  • Provide proactive decision support to executives and team members
  • Mobilize the internal resources and external partners to ensure effective and timely delivery
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in investment banking, buy side investing and/or corporate development.
  • Strong financial deal modeling and transaction execution experience.

  • Capable of organizing information succinctly and communicating to all levels of an organization
  • Experience multi-tasking to lead and execute multiple projects in parallel
  • Ability to think critically in tactical and strategic dimensions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work across various functions in order to ensure deliverables are met against required timelines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-stakes environment.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility, trust and support with both internal and external constituents.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with leaders at the most senior levels within the corporation.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels and functions both inside and outside of the organization
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, including international

 

Physical & Mental Requirements:
