Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the research of technical accounting issues, maintenance of global financial policies, support of other business development activities, and all activities related to the company’s compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act including the oversight of the design and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage our technical accounting policy function, providing consultation to our global team members;
- Prepare detailed accounting memos to be distributed to the groups impacted internally that summarize the topic, technical accounting guidance, and Company’s conclusion;
- Ensure accounting policies are maintained and properly reflect the current company and accounting landscape;
- With the Senior Manager, own process improvement of certain control processes, including those within technical accounting and other assigned areas such as Derivatives, and offer enhancements/efficiencies to the existing processes;
- Review revenue contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, as well as procurement contracts, working with our legal, contracts, commercial and procurement team members;
- Monitor, research and interpret new U.S. GAAP pronouncements and SEC reporting requirements, and assess and document the impact on the Company’s financial statements and disclosures through implementation;
- Manage the design and coordination of the Sarbanes Oxley 404 Program, working closely with internal control owners as well as our internal and external auditors;
- Assist in the coordination and tracking of internal/external testing of controls and track the status of gaps and remediation actions;
- Deliver adequate and timely reporting on the internal control framework and control deficiencies to ensure appropriate communication, documentation and escalation to business partners and senior leadership;
- Interact with cross-functional teams that include controllership, financial planning and analysis, operations, treasury, tax, investor relations, legal, human resources, internal and external audit, and others, as necessary, keeping business partners abreast of developments in accounting and financial reporting and related firm policies and positions through issuance of various publications, training sessions and other meeting forums;
- Assists in preparation of presentation and analytical materials in support of Finance, Audit and BOD requests
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: active CPA license required
- Experience: 4-6 years experience in Public Accounting; candidate may be direct from public accounting or a mix of experience, including public accounting and private industry experience in multinational manufacturing companies.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley 404
- Experience with SAP and HFM preferred
- Ability to work effectively with teams and manage multiple tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
- Effective functional and technical knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong team player
- Ability to work on multiple complex projects and bring those projects to successful conclusion
- Demonstrated success in working across multiple levels of the organization including senior leadership
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
Travel Requirements:
- Limited travel expected – 5-10%

- Position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May need to stand or sit for extended periods of time
