Job Summary:

In this role you will lead the electrical engineering element of the Global Facility Engineering team while supporting the team in project engineering & management. Electrical Systems include High, Medium and low voltage Power, Fire Alarms systems, Power monitoring, BMS, Discrimination studies, Arc Flash studies. You will support the Global Facility Engineering Network in EU, US and AP regions to provide consistent technical engineering support and guidance to the global facilities to achieve corporate goals for Quality, Overall Efficiency, Cost Reduction, Safety and Well-being

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Facility Engineering Network in establishing and providing consistent technical engineering support and guidance to the global facilities in all regions to achieve corporate goals for Quality, Overall Efficiency, Cost Reduction, Safety and Well-being.
  • Develop & drive standardization and harmonization of existing & new global facilities and implement standards on any new projects with a focus and ownership of electrical system. 
  • Develop and maintain engineering guidelines for electrical & energy management systems in terms of quality, investment and efficiency (including High, Medium and low voltage Power, Fire Alarms systems, Power monitoring, BMS, Discrimination studies, Arc Flash studies)
  • Ensure all new equipment is designed to be the most sustainable and energy efficient as available. Support all projects implementing Energy Efficient design (EED)
  • Support the energy management function during global facility audits.
  • Work closely and proactively with Operations, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering and HSE teams in order to develop facility engineering solutions.
  • Execute and direct new projects through West facility engineering defined Project Execution Strategy
  • Provide consistent technical support to the various global sites by being the subject matter experts (SME) for electrical and energy management systems in West globally.
  • Ensure that GMP aspects, current technical standards (EU, US, AP), local building codes and regulations and safety standards for the buildings are being considered and met.
  • Ensure there are sufficient preventive and corrective maintenance procedure in place for safe operation of all electrical systems.
  • Establish the engineering expectations for new facility investment projects (Greenfields and plant rebuilt) by communicating the engineering guidelines and establishing clear basis of design documentation.
  • Take an active part in the evaluation and selection of external partners such as engineering consultants and building contractors. Collaborate with and also manage external consultants and contractors in building projects to ensure that project tasks and deliverables are being achieved.
  • Take the lead in new projects for all disciplines including design reviews, commissioning reviews, operation reviews, and perform constructability analysis during the design phase in close alignment with our external engineering partners and plant engineering teams. Lead commissioning and qualification activities.
  • Ensure facilities are operating as efficiently as possible to minimize their impact on the environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Masters or equivalent in Electrical / Building Service Engineering.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in design/construction/operation in Pharma or Medical device industry
  • Good understanding of design and construction, Operations & maintenance of electrical systems & equipment.
  • Detailed engineering knowledge of Building Services with ability to assert technical solutions and standards in an international environment.
  • Strong engineering and trouble shooting skills (facility engineering, electrical systems)
  • Detail knowledge of electrical standards.
  • Good Interpersonal and Communication skills, Energy conservation knowledge

Physical and Travel Requirements
