Job Summary:

As an integral part of West´s global Product Management team, the Manager of Product Management, Components will work primarily to ensure effective management of current and future component products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a segment of a portfolio or specific range of component products & services
    • Product marketing strategy leads commercial workstreams for new product development, product line extensions, product discontinuation
    • Developing sales training, market communications, sales tool development
    • Developing business justification for new product introductions, line extensions, or product discontinuation
    • Support operations and quality with manufacturing network optimization
    • Development and execution of a formal product marketing plans. Collaborating with market units, I&T, TCS, Communications, Strategic Portfolio Pricing and Sales OPS
  • Works collaboratively with operations, supply chain, procurement to ensure alignment
    • Responsible for long-term demand forecast of assigned categories
    • Partner with operations and supply chain in development of manufacturing strategy providing guidance regarding long term product line strategies
    • Provides business justification for capital expenditures and support operations PER development and approval
  • Provide strategic direction and build content with Corporate Communications on product communications including literature, advertisements, articles, social media content, advertisements, digital content, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical area i.e., biology, chemistry, materials science, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in B2B marketing, B2B sales, Business Development in highly regulated markets with products requiring high degree of technical selling. Grounding in financial concepts such discounted payback, NPV, ROCE, working capital, etc.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Sales and marketing background must be coupled with good technical understanding and knowledge of Bio-/Pharmaceutical market.
  • MBA or equivalent.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times


Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel regionally and internationally a minimum of 35% of the time
