Job Summary:

In this role, the LIMS Master Data Specialist will be responsible for the coordination, building, and testing of master data and other processes for LabVantage LIMS.  This person will be responsible to follow established data governance processes for Master Data build and testing for LIMS with collaboration with the D&T, Project Management, Lab Operations and Lab Solutions teams.  This role will report into Supervisor, with a dotted line into D&T for coordination of activities. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with D&T, Project Management, Lab Operations and Lab Solutions to determine prioritization of master data requests
  • Collaborate with Analytical Lab SMEs to understand West Test Methods, Client Test Methods and/or Compendia reporting requirements
  • Evaluate LIMS updates/changes/additions impact on lab processes and coordinate with D&T for implementation
  • Build, update, and review Master Data objects such as Parameters, Parameter Lists, Specifications and Test Methods.
  • Test Master Data changes by running test samples in LIMS in QA environment
  • Collaborate with Lab SME’s and D&T to enter calculations, create reports, add data and information fields as determined by Lab.
  • Collaborate with Business Ops to obtain Activity Type Codes for data entry as required
  • Provide support and training to allow proper cross-training of employees who supply database information
  • Ensure data is developed for consistent integration with other global systems such as SAP and Master Control
  • Ensure Master data governance procedures are in place and followed for highest level of quality data output
  • Coordinate with D&T and Lab SME’s for developing, validating, and implementing the Laboratory Execution System in LIMS for lab testing methods
  • Work closely with D&T team to understand requirements and impact of changes to lab LIMS
  • Work across organization for successful LIMS processes and programs
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor's in science related field
  • Experience: 3-5 years of master data building and testing

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • cGMP experience
  • Relevant experience data quality and master data management processes
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems, preferably LabVantage
  • Basic knowledge of analytical techniques and methodology.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Dependable, detail oriented, able to think creatively under pressure and work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Sedentary - exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met
