Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead, coordinate, and administer the monthly global SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process for a portfolio of products (covering multiple operating units and technologies) from late-stage product development to end of product lifecycle as a key member of the Global Supply Chain team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and administer the monthly global SIOP process, including coordinating prework, preparing the content and presentations, facilitating monthly meetings, capturing action items, and follow-up to ensure accountability and execution of decisions and escalations.
  • Develops and ensures organizational adoption of our Global SIOP operating and governance models.
  • Ensure that the SIOP process is sustained and effectively yields desired results.
  • Ensure the demand plan is properly integrated into the SIOP process to assure correct generation of unconstrained demand forecast. Ensure the demand review process happens routinely and on time.
  • Identify supply and demand issues (and gaps to plan), develops and implements scenarios to mitigate, prepare recommendations, and facilitate escalation to Executive level decision makers.
  • Collaborate with Global Planners to prepare scenario plans for SIOP trade-off discussions.
  • Document and communicate key actions and decisions to drive organizational alignment.
  • Provide proactive and regular updates on action items, escalations and exceptions as captured in the SIOP process related to out-of-stock items, service issues, supplier issues, production schedule adherence, order issues, inventory metrics, and other related issues.
  • Ensures that Demand Planning & Supply Planning process owners are implementing and performing best practices across all business units/sites/functional leads following SIOP Planning calendar.
  • Ensure monthly Demand/Supply/Pre-SIOP/SIOP review process is performed at respective levels/regions according to the guidelines.
  • Ensure all data generated via SIOP is timely and accurate and shared with the appropriate personnel.
  • Review the SIOP process to ensure its alignment with contemporary best practices and is suitable for our dynamic business needs. Drives continuous improvement to streamline the process and bring best practices to West’s SIOP process. Leverage automation and technology including using existing tools, dashboards, and analytical tools.
  • Hold contributing personnel, including leadership, to account for agreed actions, mitigation of risk and realization of opportunities as identified in the SIOP process. Escalate as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Engineering. MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred - CPIM and/or CSCM and/or REFA industrial engineering and/or similar.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a highly analytical supply/demand planning (S&OP) environment, demand planning, supply planning, new products introduction, material planning and S&OP process, or Integrated Business Planning.
  • Proven business management experience working across organization and varying levels of leadership with minimum five years in a managerial role.
  • Integrated Business Planning (IBP) highly sought and/or MRP and ERP systems inventory control, materials required planning, demand planning, and advanced supply chain planning and analytics
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP SNP and APO.
  • Highly skilled communicator with proven ability to communicate complex analytical conclusions simply and succinctly; influence or persuade others through oral and written presentations in positive or negative circumstances; listen well.
  • Proven ability to communicate with stakeholders across the organization, including listening to understand multiple viewpoints and their relevance to the success of SIOP outcomes.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate and develop presentation materials at an executive level.
  • Skilled at working with teams of people with disparate opinions and agendas to develop common outcomes, strategies, and plans. Builds a sense of team goals, focusing team while balancing trade-offs in each stakeholder community.
  • Strong skills as a meeting facilitator with the ability to keep a meeting on track while engaging all stakeholders and driving to a set of decisions that can be executed in the business.
  • A change agent and not satisfied with the status quo and works proactively to continually improve.
  • Focused on ensuring that all data and activities are managed at an appropriate level of detail to ensure an accurate demand and supply plan.
  • Focuses on most important and relevant topics through identification of impact on business results.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Education: MBA preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and SCM software and implementation – preferably SAP.
  • Experience in planning, assessing, and implementing change.
  • Strong knowledge of key supply chain processes and current best practices.
  • Ability to work independently on a global, cross-functional basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team leadership, influential, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Life Sciences industry to include an understanding of the markets, demographic trends, customers, competition, and business challenges.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Thrives on challenge with an ability to influence stakeholders and foster an environment of collaboration.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, including international.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:
