Job Summary:

The Director, Digital & Transformation, ERP Manufacturing and Planning Functional Design and Architecture is an integral part of the Global ERP Functional Design and Architecture teams and establishes a “follow the sun” based delivery model across the regions. This position is expected to drive the strategy and implement of next generation ERP system for the Manufacturing and Planning domain along with the global team and manage delivery and support of the ERP applications including SAP and MES systems (In-House MES Systems, Werum, Shopfloor Online, QAD etc.). This role will support and deliver the ERP transformation at West Pharma.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extensive thought leadership in setting the strategy and designing the future Manufacturing and Planning solutions in ERP with focus on sustainability, agility and adaptivity to changing business conditions.
  • Own and Oversee Technical Configuration Work: Ensure ERP design and configuration work are being conducted based on a well-developed ERP solutions architecture and a detailed set of business, functional and technical requirements. Ensure effective ownership and execution of an agile based systems development lifecycle methodology.
  • Provide ERP Change Management Oversight: Ensure change management is being effectively planned and managed and that stakeholder engagement, communication, and all levels of required training is being effectively executed. Ensure the change management is fully integrated into ERP deployment planning and rollout strategy and plan.
  • Provide ERP Project Management Oversight: Ensure ERP project manager is effectively conducting day-to-day ERP project management. Model Project Management discipline in all in aspects of ERP program design, development, implementation, and support. Work with PM to Forecast, analyze and control the ERP program budget.
  • Support Business Transformation Work: Works closely with the global IT leaders and business organizations to develop standardized global business processes. Manage and resolve complex business issues arising from the implementation of new processes or procedures, escalating decisions as appropriate to IT and Business Leadership as needed.
  • Support ERP Business Owner and Executive Sponsor Decision Making Process: Support and prepare for ERP Steering Committee Meetings. Attend Business Owner Meetings and ensure the efficiency of ERP decision-making process. Works as a part of the IT leadership team on the ERP direction, assuring process, people, and technology alignment.
  • Attracts, recruits, develops, and builds capabilities across technology competency areas in ERP (SAP, MES systems, etc.).
  • Inspires, coaches, trains, develops, motivates, and evaluates team members to enable their capabilities and accomplish the department’s priorities. Ensures team members have access to training, coaching, and mentoring to thrive in their respective roles and enhance professional development.
  • Ensures the various teams are collaborating across the enterprise, across various groups, and builds a high-performance environment.
  • Ensures the IT and Business leadership are apprised of all statuses, risks, challenges, issues, and opportunities relating to various digital initiatives as needed.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with business leaders across Operations, Commercial and other functions to build alignment, collaboration, and support
  • Reviews, and/or recommends new architecture and processes, changes to existing architecture and processes, and exceptions to architecture, technology, and process standards globally
  • Communicates key digital messages, goals, and objectives to team members in their local geographies or business units to drive alignment and a high-performance culture
  • Responsible for the performance and results of the team. Performs the day-to-day management of the assigned team, both employees and contractors, in compliance and consistent with the West values, policies and procedures
  • Drives agile and DevOps culture of implementation and product management culture in the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Information Systems, or related field required
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Preferred 15+ years of experience related to SAP ERP systems implementation and operations in Manufacturing and Planning domain, with clear demonstration of progressive achievement and growth in ERP program management experience
  • Providing transformation expertise especially in the context of SAP S/4H manufacturing, quality, and planning processes and/or SAP ECC Previous management consulting experience delivering increasingly complex SAP ERP systems with integration to other systems
  • Strong integration experience between manufacturing processes discrete/repetitive to planning (demand planning (DP)/supply network planning (SNP), production planning/detailed scheduling (PPDS)) is needed
  • Successfully led at least two large, complex, full-lifecycle SAP ERP implementations in manufacturing, quality, and planning domain with integration to order-to-cash, finance, supply-chain, and manufacturing process capabilities
  • 3 to 5 years of leadership responsibility managing midsize to large teams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
  • Experience using project management software tools, such as Azure DevOps, MS Project, Jira, and other tools, to effectively lead, manage, monitor, and control project activities
  • Project and/or program management certification and/or lean process improvement (i.e., Six Sigma) certification preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high flexibility and rapid response time
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems related to general & technical aspects of the job. Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, policies, and business practices to achieve results
  • Experience managing at least 5-8 direct reports in a global matrix organization
  • Willingness to global travel
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times

 

Travel Requirements:

  • May be required to travel up to 40% of the time

 

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Sedentary - exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met
