Job Summary:

In this role you will be responsible for the development of new and improved components for the pharmaceutical industry mainly made from rubber-, aluminum- and plastic materials or combination of these materials. You will develop product concepts, execute studies to prove feasibility and support the scale up to industrial manufacturing.



Your Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will lead and execute development projects for new product solutions
  • In cross-functional project teams you will have an active role as core team member and technical lead of assigned R&D projects
  • You will prepare and obtain approval for project time schedules and ensure compliance with these plans and related budgets; furthermore, you will ensure project outcome is aligned with various internal and external stakeholders
  • It will be your accountability that product development projects activities, project communication and documentation are following internal customer requirements and expectations
  • You will identify, design and execute relevant experiments that stress the capability of the product using for instance statistical methods to verify viability
  • In our GMP environment, you will apply best practice for research and development activities including proper documentation
  • To bring product into the market, you will support the implementation of the newly developed products into our production processes in cooperation with the global functions of West
  • You will proactively maintain awareness of technology and competitive business trends


Your Profile:

  • You are educated with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • You have a professional experience of at least five years including at least 2 years in product development, ideally in the pharmaceutical or life science industry. Your experience includes working in international project teams and project management.
  • Knowledge about production technologies (plastic injection molding, elastomer molding or metal deep-drawing) would be an asset
  • Proactive communication and assertiveness within the project teams, other departments and sites as well presentations to upper management in proficient English is no problem for you. German language skills or willingness to learn would be an advantage.
  • You have strong result-oriented analytical skills and your hands-on and pragmatic manner allow you to effectively solve project challenges
  • You are willing to make international business trips and work at different locations up to 10% of your working time
