Job Summary:

West Pharmaceutical Services is looking for a European Tax Senior Manager (m/f/d) to join our global tax team. The Tax Senior Manager will join a friendly and driven team, and will play a key role supporting the planning and audit of various tax and transfer pricing matters related to West’s European operations. This role will work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and outside consultants to support West’s tax operations in foreign jurisdictions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the German Tax Provision according to US GAAP
  • Responsible for German Tax Compliance with the assistance of outside accounting companies
  • Support and/or lead tax controversy projects outside the U.S. with an emphasis on German tax issues
  • Actively drive the development and implementation of transfer pricing planning and compliance across the group, including the implementation and communication of policies and procedures
  • Assist in international tax planning, Merges & Acquisitions integration and other tax related projects outside of Germany
  • Manage a wide range of ad hoc planning, compliance and audit projects
  • Partner with and advise the Global Financial Services team in Ireland as required in relation to tax and transfer pricing matters



  • Degree in tax, accounting or finance
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in working on corporate and international tax
  • Qualified accountant e.g., auditor, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA or related experience
  • Knowledge in US GAAP (ASC 740)
  • Familiarity with OneSource (OIT/OTP) and/or Alteryx would be a plus
  • Fluent German and English skills both written and oral, and in another European language (as French, Italian, Spanish or Danish) would be a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player
  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects and bring those projects to a successful conclusion
  • Demonstrated success in working across multiple levels of the organization including senior leadership
  • Strong problem-solving skills
