Job Summary:

In this role you will work with West’s customers as technical key contact to develop customized elastomer packaging components. You will work in a global environment in cross-functional teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable products and, scalable processes. You will lead projects to develop tooling throughout the different phases of development projects ranging from prototype to manufacturing tools.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical lead and coordination of development projects between the customer’s and West’s project teams
  • Translation of concept drawings and requirement specifications into CAD drawings and 3D models
  • Identification and implementation of the required tooling to establish sustainable and scalable processes for customer and West proprietary products
  • Planning and execution of tool validations
  • Organization and coordination of production trials and validation runs in production plants in collaboration with Production and Process Engineering
  • Transfer of tooling and processes to commercial production

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering
  • Multiple years of industrial experience, project management and interaction with internal and external customers
  • Experience in development and processing of pharmaceutical packaging components is desired
  • Knowledge in rubber processing, tool design and in product design would be a favor
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling (preferably Solid Works)
  • Strong result-oriented analytical skills, hands-on and pragmatic manners
  • Proficient communication and presentation skills in English. German skills or willingness to learn would be an advantage
