Job Summary:

In this role, you will report to the Senior Planning Manager.  You will lead a high performing team, managing the flow of materials through production to provide high quality products and on-time delivery to our customers, while supporting the continuing development of the supply chain. You will also have responsibility for identifying and managing continuous improvement projects along with ‘hands on’ daily activities in support of the changing needs of the business.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a high-performance team to establish and deliver key performance metrics with a strong customer focus in a high volume, highly regulated environment.
  • Responsible for employee development through coaching, mentoring and succession planning in line with the company Strategy Plan.
  • Identify and successfully lead continuous improvement projects to deliver value and competitive advantage throughout the supply chain.
  • Co-ordinate, with a ‘hands on’ approach where necessary, all planning and logistics activities relating to internal and external key supply chain flows, in accordance with the company documented requirements.
  • Work closely with key business functions to ensure the lean management of the supply chain to our customers. Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in the key flows of the supply chain.
  • Liaise directly and develop key relationships with customers, freight carriers and 3PL to understand requirements and establish schedules/forecasts whilst working closely with related functions to ensure on time delivery of finished product.
  • Responsible for supply chain management of assigned customer, freight carriers and 3PL.
  • Responsible for managing the MRP System, inventory and invoicing through the key supply chain flows including cycle counting, BOMs and other key activities.
  • Act in accordance with the company’s Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate code of conduct.
  • Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training, and regulations.
  • Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate procedures.
  • Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of third level qualification, ideally to degree level, in a relevant business discipline.
  • Preferably have a formal Supply Chain Management qualification, e.g. APICS, IIPMM or equivalent.
  • Ideally have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in logistics and production planning with experience leading a high-performance team.
  • Must have worked in high volume manufacturing environment with hands on production planning and warehousing experience, preferably in a plastics, medical device, or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in interpreting customer demand and production schedules in complex, high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ideally have experience in managing customer relationships.
  • Proven track record in developing and leading projects.
  • Must have broad supply chain and logistics experience with a proven track record in delivering optimal international supply chain solutions and results.
  • Preferably have experience developing and managing 3PL and outsource warehousing with JIT systems.
  • Must have extensive experience with manufacturing IT systems and be highly computer literate particularly with ERP and Excel.
  • Must be able to lead, motivate, direct, coach & develop employees effectively to meet organizational goals.
  • Must have the ability to effectively gather, analyse and report key data including delivery of presentations to customers and management. Experience implementing supply chain KPIs an advantage.
  • Must be detail orientated with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks to deliver on business objectives.
  • Must be able to work in a team matrix environment, identifying and delivering on opportunities for improvement.
  • Must be able to work on their own initiative with strong problem solving and decision-making ability.
  • Must be able to liaise effectively with all levels of the Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:                   

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, and use hands and finger to operate office equipment (i.e., phones, computers, copies, etc.).
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from offices and building sites.
  • The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet. The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is moderate to loud. Hearing protection is always required in the manufacturing work environment.
  • May be required at times to carry equipment/materials- good hand-eye coordination skills.
  • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing,

  • This job is classified as sedentary as the candidate will work seated in front of their computer for the majority of their day.

  • Strong decision-making abilities and an ability to be assertive when required.
  • Must be able to deal with all levels of employees and work across various departments and express and exchange ideas.
