Job Summary:
Responsibility for the safe hands-on day-to-day operation of West, Dublin warehouse facility and ensuring that the warehouse is well organized, clean and tidy at all times for internal/external audits/visits. The role includes responsibility for the control and movement of all West, Dublin’s inventory stored at 3rd party warehouse providers. Reporting to the Supply Chain Lead.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Supply Chain Lead, support delivery of the defined business goals & objectives.
• Responsible for the smooth operation of all daily warehousing functions both within West, Dublin and through West’s 3rd party warehouse provider, including but not limited to:
o Receiving and inspection of incoming goods, materials and other equipment.
o Safe and secure storage of goods, materials and other equipment.
o Cycle counting, inventory transaction accuracy, warehousing labelling/Id. and discrepancy resolution.
o Safe operation of all Forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
o Material issue and movement to and from production on FIFO basis and in a timely manner.
o Daily warehouse interfacing with freight carriers.
o Picking and shipment of goods, materials and other equipment.
o All Warehouse assigned transactions and documentation.
o Kanban operation for consumables and any other items.
o Audit readiness and performance reporting.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in line with the industry standard.
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies in connection with the warehousing function.
• Work effectively with and support the Purchasing, Planning and Business Unit functions within the plant.
• As a member of the Supply Chain Team, support training and development of the team in line with the overall business growth and to deliver the business goals & objectives. Assist the Supply Chain Lead with the identification and development of talent towards high performance.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety standards (OHSAS 18001) and requirements within the warehousing function.
• Compliance to all local and corporate company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- Preferably have a formal Logistics or Supply Chain Management qualification (NFQ level 6, APICS etc.)
- You must hold a Valid Forklift Licence.
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Warehouse management in a High Tech / High Volume industry preferably with the plastics, medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must have the ability to support training and development within the Warehouse function.
• Must have strong knowledge and practical experience of Warehousing and inventory control systems and be computer literate.
• Must understand the principles of batch control, JIT manufacturing, stock turns, FIFO, etc.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced team environment.
• Must be able to organize and prioritise tasks and be detail orientated and self-motivated.
• Must be able to deal with all levels of employees and work across various departments.
Travel Requirements:
• None. No travel required.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
• Physical – Medium. Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.
• Mental - Must be able to express or exchange ideas with employees. Must be able to understand direction and adhere to established procedures.
