Job Summary:


The Sr. Specialist, Human Resources, Bangalore DTC is a trusted HR advisor and partner who collaborates closely with the HR leader, HR team and HR COEs to provide support to managers and employees at West’s Bangalore Digital Technology Center (DTC). Reporting into the Sr. Manager, HR, this position is aligned with specific client groups at the DTC providing end-to-end employee lifecycle support. Areas of responsibility include onboarding, off boarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, learning, data entry of employee changes. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Applies HR expertise and experience to handle situations in areas such as performance management, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, compensation planning, learning, benefits, payroll.  Provides advice, clarification and follow-up on employment law, policies, procedures, benefits and payroll related items for employees, managers and global HR partners.
•    Works in collaboration with the appropriate HR teams on items involving performance management, leave of absences, training, development and compensation. 
o    Partners with the HR leader and local HR team in developing and enhancing local HR policies, practices and guidelines. 
o    Using internal dashboards, reports on the status of performance management steps. Follows up with the business on overdue and upcoming items (e.g. objective setting, mid-year review, year-end performance).
o    Handles leave of absence requests and coordinates with counsel and local HR leader to ensure compliance and timely communication throughout the process.
o    Partners and collaborates with HR leader to roll out culture and engagement programs
•    Partners with the Recruiter to ensure staffing needs are met including reviewing and approving appropriate job requisitions and negotiating offers. 
•    Leads, manages, addresses and resolves employee relations concerns, including conducting thorough and objective investigations while keeping the appropriate parties informed.
•    Develops and leads training programs in partnership with the Learning Team and through training needs analysis to enhance the competencies of the workforce.
•    Maintains records /system and compiles statistical reports concerning employee-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, absenteeism rates.
•    Executes off-boarding process in a thorough, timely and sensitive manner.
•    Promotes effective communication between employees and management.  Reviews, advise on and approves local new hire and promotion announcements.
•    Handles local administrative and data compliance requirements such as employee data change requests, employee data audits, management of temporary worker/intern database, employee record maintenance and upkeeping of HR files. This includes data changes, entry and approvals for new hires, promotions, etc.
•    Oversees, develops, enhances and delivers new hire onboarding (in-person or virtually). 
o    Leads pre-boarding process, including pre-employment and new hire setup requirements 
o    Advises the business on onboarding plans including managers, buddy and new hire responsibilities
o    Delivers new hire orientation. Coordinates with peers on onboarding/orientation schedule.
•    As needed, supports or leads university relations strategy to include on-going cultivation and relationship building with campus representatives, diversity organizations, and student organizations to build talent pipelines for entry-level software/electronics engineering roles. 
•    As needed, supports and handles LMS Administrator duties:
o    Facilitate and deliver LMS system and business process learning sessions to Bangalore.
o    Partner with regional L&D team to ensure proper course set-up, assignment and registration. 
o    Automate new item assignments by using training curriculum and assignment profiles to all new hires, newly transferred or promoted team members.
o    Maintain application level expertise on Learning Management System and reporting systems. Run regular statistical management reports from the LMS. Develops ad hoc and specialized reports as required. 
o    Record internal and external instructor-led training completions, trainings completion of procedures taken outside of LMS on a timely basis, as needed.
o    Provide consultation and support to team members on system issues and questions regarding LMS, including training, resetting of PIN, access issues, system errors, browser usage, etc. Escalate systems issues to System Admin, as required.
o    Handle password reset & quiz unlocking, manage required quizzes, pre-requisites, substitute relationships between items, as required.
•    Manages employee medical and insurance plan as appropriate. 
o    Updates information on new hires additions and deletions to insurance service provider
o    Coordinates for claims settlements and hospitalizations with employee and service provider
•    Manages the Annual Corporate Compliance Training for clients
•    Continually monitors the “pulse” of employees and assists in the development of programs/events that build motivation, engagement and retention.
•    Acts as the HR liaison to the Bangalore local committees/clubs as needed
•    Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.


Education and Experience: 
•    University degree in HR, business or an equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
•    Preferred: Experience at a multinational organization and/or supporting Digital and IT roles 
•    HR Generalist experience and a good understanding of local labor legislations
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
•    Ability to work in a virtual, fast-paced and complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
•    Ability to handle confidential information and issues in a discrete manner
•    Preferred: knowledge of HR related systems such as SAP, Success Factors
•    Good experience with MS Office especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel
•    Skills & Competencies: trustworthy, inclusive, customer orientation, communication, planning and organizing, personal accountability and attention to detail
•    Comfortable working with people at all levels 
•    Proficient English language skills. 
•    Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description. 
•    Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times. 
 
Travel Requirements 
•    Less than 5% travel
