Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager Infrastructure Engineering Automation will be part of the Infrastructure Engineering team and will be primarily accountable for Infrastructure Engineering Automation.  This role will lead a team to identify, optimize and automate Infrastructure Engineering processes and technologies. 

This position should have a strong understanding and technical hands-on experience in compute, storage, backup and cloud.  This role also requires a strong understanding of cloud industry trends as well as solutions based on best practices, resilient architecture, and timely delivery for the needs of the business.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Lead a team of infrastructure engineers from planning and organization to execution and delivery to solve complex problems with tools and testing customized or built to requirement specifications
•    Delegate tasks and set deadlines for team goals to ensure delivery of business needs
•    Provides support, guidance, leadership, and collaboration to D&T and business partners to support overall company goals
•    Ensure innovative and priority projects or proving new technologies spending are within budget
•    Define, provide input and maintain policies around emerging and existing technology
•    Strategize, Design and build automation around continuous deployment management and systematic improvements
•    Design and build tooling and infrastructure to drive adoption of best practices in resource utilization, organization, monitoring, and maintainability of existing deployments
•    Oversees and provides leadership direction in mitigation of complex problems derived from root cause analysis
•    Oversees and provides leadership with hands-on technical direction to deliver problem, solution, tactical and break fix capability
•    Provide inspirational leadership and direction to direct report teams and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient team
•    Identify, recruit, and retain exceptional talent in the area of Infrastructure Automation
•    Collaborate with other teams on effective test coverage, resource requirements and feature management
•    Strong sense of ownership and desire to build effective and feature rich tools for other engineers
•    Strong management skills within a global structure that is inclusive, innovative, and collaborative
•     Repeated pointDevelop, implement, and test technologies work instructions, runbooks and design documentation and procedures
•    Participate in support of systems outside of normal business hours


Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
•    Minimum 10 years of work experience, with 3 years in  people management
•    Preferred but not required: Agile & Scrum Certification, ITIL.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•    Ability to provide leadership and prioritize multiple requests for a team in a collaborative way
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a service-oriented mindset
•    Excellent interpersonal skills to lead a global team
•    Preferred strong coding skills in Python/Javascript/C++
•    Preferred strong skills in Selenium/Ansible/SALT
•    Comfortable with open systems environments 
•    Comfortable with Windows and .Net environments
•    Experience in on or more scripting languages: bash, PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, Ansible, etc
•    Attention to detail and able to build scalable and reliable software systems or toolsets
•    Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
•    Self-driven & motivated with a strong work ethic and passion for problem-solving
•    Experience and knowledge of Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
•    Experience in administering EMC Avamar/Data Domain, VMware vSphere
•    Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies always


Travel Requirements:
•    Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time – includes global travel


Physical & Mental Requirements:
•    Must be able to communicate effectively, make quick decisions, interpret data, read & write, speak in front of groups, express & exchange ideas, understand direction and adhere to procedures
