Job Summary:

 

The Sr. Manager, D&T, SAP Basis is an integral part of the D&T SAP Basis, DBA and Governance organization and has overall responsibility for the implementation, administration & maintenance of West Pharma’s SAP & Non-SAP landscape.  This role has primary accountability for the delivery of projects, system enhancement and production support in alignment with West D&T and company policies and procedures.
The individual manages medium to large scale projects of average to high complexity, coordinating project activities to ensure the timely development and delivery of reliable and efficient systems-related solutions to business requirements, and managing to schedule deadlines. 
The individual will provide guidance and hands on technical leadership to the team in the installation and maintenance of SAP systems (ECC, BW/Hana, S/4, PI/PO, SOLMAN, Porta, SCM) & non-SAP supplementary environment.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Manage internal and external resources and strategize ,supervise  delivery with collaboration of local and global teams.
•    Provide best practices to Lead the migration, administration, and support of SAP ECC, SAP SCM, Solution Manager, GRC, Fiori and BW/BI and HANA DB.  
•    Design and implement  database administration with special focus on ORACLE, MS SQL, HANA DB along with underlying operating systems (Windows, Linux)
•    Implement policies/standards to improve the quality and efficiency as per the emerging industry standards in liaison with cross functional teams & business users 
•    Oversee the Audit, Risk Compliance, and Business Continuity Plans.
•    Accountable for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of business processes supported by the SAP system.
•    Work closely with other D&T team members across the globe, to ensure that high quality solutions and enhancements are delivered in a cost-effective manner, with minimal disruption to business activities.  
•    Responsible for providing design and oversight on project work as well as day-to-day activities of the business.
•    Lead the team to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
•    Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
•    Provide inspirational leadership and direction to direct report teams and ensure the continued development
•    Deliver detail Technical & Planning Workshops, As-Is Due Diligence & To-Be Blueprint.
•    Lead Early Watch report analysis and knowledge of platforms like SAP HANA, Upgrades and Migrations.

 

Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Project Management, or equivalent work experience 
•    10-12 years of ERP project execution and/or support experience 
•    Experience leading strategic SAP programs.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•    Experience on SAP ECC and S/4 HANA
•    Functional knowledge and experience with Solution Manager 
•    Deep expertise, understanding and knowledge of SAP Technical Architecture (Design/Setup/High Availability/Disaster Recovery/Performance Tuning) including integration knowledge around functional domain preferably in a pharmaceuticals or life sciences environment.
•    Must have experience as a manager who can properly influence people, processes, and technology in a manner that enriches the company's culture and overall performance
•    Must be customer-focused, both internal and external to the company
•    Ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities with high flexibility and rapid response time.
•    Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
•    At least 3-4 end-to-end implementations of SAP ERP with experience on latest releases like S/4, HANA etc.
•    Broad general SAP knowledge and the ability and willingness to work outside of core expertise
•    Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems related to general & technical aspects of the job. Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, policies, and business practices to achieve results.
•    Preferred but not required: Agile & Scrum Certification
•    Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description 
•    Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times.

 

Physical and Travel Requirements
•    10-15% travel, including global travel
•    Willingness to work outside of working hours & On-Call as needed.
