Job Summary
In this role, you will oversee all operations at the Bodmin tooling facility and manage Senior Leadership Team to achieve strategic goals and develop the business. You will determine and execute the site strategy in coordination with the objectives of the Global Tooling Team and Tooling Director. Responsible for analysing and improving the site performance and ensuring the culture and ethos is conducive to continuous improvement and operational excellence. You will liaise with customers, Tooling team members and the local SLT to deliver the tooling required to produce elastomer and other products for the business. You will ensure that safety, quality, cost, customer and service objectives are adequately resourced and controlled.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Bodmin Senior Leadership Team
- Manage direct reports including the Planning and Production Manager, Engineering Manager, Health and Safety Technical Lead and Business Administrator
- Manage and provide guidance to Matrix reports including the Quality Manager, HR Manager, Technical Manager and Finance Manager
- Ensure strategic goals and objectives are set and resourced appropriately for the site and in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Global Tooling Director
- Oversee communication with external stakeholders including plants and other business functions to supply and receive information related to the Bodmin facility
- Ensure effective performance management throughout all levels of the Bodmin team
- Manage and oversee site budget and ensure that finances are monitored and controlled
- Responsible for ensuring the site is resourced appropriately with regards to personnel in order to efficiently and effectively meet business requirements
- Deputize for and support the Tooling Director
- Provide technical support and guidance to the Tooling group
- Be responsible for the provision of information with regards to tool manufacture, including accurate tool quotations and technical detail
- Support Global Tooling Group alignment and coordinate actions with other tooling sites and stakeholders
- Ensure quality meets the company’s and customers’ expectations and work with the Quality Manager to promote a quality culture
- Responsible for ensuring the site meets its commitments to maintaining its ISO 9001 accreditation for quality systems
- Responsible for ensuring a best-in-class workplace with regards to Health, Safety & Environmental compliance and meeting the requirements of accreditation of ISO 45001
- Responsible for solving problems such as accidents, incidents or anomalies which occur within the responsibilities of the site
- Owner of the site's Business Continuity Plan and responsible for minimising risk to business disruption
- Support introduction of new manufacturing processes and ensure best practice is shared within the Tooling Group
- Ensure all priorities are clearly identified and that personnel are deployed appropriately to meet the priorities
- Other duties as assigned

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
Work Experience
- Formal Tool Making apprenticeship and/or Engineering qualification
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Engineering and/or Tooling
- Minimum of 5 years of tool making experience
- Minimum of 5 years in a management or supervisory role in a manufacturing or tooling environment
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- IOSH Directing Safely certificate or equivalent.
- Formal supervisory training NVQ level 3
- Knowledge and experience in all processes involved in the manufacture of mould and press tooling
- 6 Sigma Green Belt
- Experience in auditing QMS and HSE systems
- Experience of Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems
