Job Summary
Reporting to the VP Finance & Chief Accounting Officer, this leader is responsible for all financial activities in the Asia Pacific region, including the accounting close and reporting, tax and treasury execution, and FP&A business partnering. The Sr Director, Finance APAC participates in strategic planning decisions affecting the APAC business, including financial review of all investment decisions and customer growth opportunities. The position requires both a strong business acumen and accounting background, with experience of operating in a global matrix environment with a wide range of senior operational, finance and corporate stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for timely and accurate execution of financial controls and all accounting activities, including but not limited to general ledger, cost & inventory accounting, fixed assets, credit & collections, and accounts payable at all manufacturing plants (4) and legal entities operating in the Asia Pacific region ensuring alignment with our global processes.
- Overall responsibility for US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and West financial policy compliance for the legal entities and locations in the Asia Pacific Region.
- Oversee the development of standard costs, analysis of variances, and valuation of inventory balances, in line with our Corporate process and policies.
- Primary business partner to the VP Commercial, APAC, including analysis and insights into Commercial performance in the region while ensuring close alignment with West’s global finance commercial team.
- Coordinates and executes the annual budget process and quarterly forecasting for locations and legal entities in the APAC region, in line with the Corporate and Segment FP&A timeline and guidelines.
- Provides financial analysis of strategic investment decisions, including capital spending and product transfers, for manufacturing plants within the region that aligns with Wests global value stream strategy.
- Proactively review and develop opportunities to drive customer growth in the region, including analyzing long-term agreements and ensuring business needs are met.
- In close coordination with the Corporate Treasury team, and in compliance with local regulations, develops and executes plans to manage Treasury activities in the Asia Pacific Region, including FX, cashflow and banking activities.
- Support global tax initiatives that may impact the Asia Pacific Region.
- Manage a team of approximately 20 reports (4-5 direct reports) in 4 countries. Develop group talent, ensuring succession planning candidates are identified for key roles.

Education
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance
- Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience in Accounting/Finance
- Strong knowledge of US accounting principles
Work Experience
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in Accounting/Finance
- Experience in mid-to-senior level management and leading/developing strong financial accounting team.
- Strong knowledge of US accounting principles
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels in the organization, and operate in a highly matrixed role.
- Proven track record in leading a multi-cultural, functional team.
- Working knowledge of SAP products, including S/4 HANA (or legacy ERP version), BPC and BI/BW.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to assist in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to strategically partner with management and collaborate across teams, functions and layers.
- Experience with international operations and accounting for foreign exchange
- Experience of working within the Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience working in the Asia Pacific market for multi-national organizations
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels in the organization, and operate in a highly matrixed role, including strategic partnering across teams, functions and layers.
