Job Summary
To support the continued transformation of the Finance function, and in order to bring greater cohesion and integrity to the financial results for our US and European locations, all US and European accounting activities will be centralized under this this role. As an important member of the Global Finance Leadership team, you will execute on our strategic direction and play a key role in the continuous enhancement and development of the finance function to meet the needs of a growing business and changing business landscape. This role demands a focus and understanding of our key business challenges and will encompass both organizational development and exploitation of opportunities offered by existing and new information technologies. You will also be expected to embrace new and broader responsibilities as the business develops including any mergers or divestitures. You will align the Cost and Inventory Accounting function with the existing financial accounting function at GFS. You will drive best practice and global consistency over the entities for which you have responsibility. You will ensure the application of global finance policy and seek operational synergies following the implementation of S4 in Israel and other future S4 implementations. You will continue to enhance our processes over the the CM companies on QAD, driving consistent policy application and operational synergies. You will lead and manage the delivery of accounting activities and statutory compliance. You will act as board member of our European legal operational manufacturing entities and our holding companies. You will be responsible for overall corporate governance and compliance. #LI-CT1
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategy and Leadership: Act as a leader and strong business partner to US headquartered Controllership, FPandA, Audit, Tax, HR, Procurement, Digital and Transformation Supply chain, Legal and Commercial organizations
- Actively determine and promote strategic improvement and initiatives bringing the voice of Finance to the table
- Instill a rigorous control and compliance framework within the Controllership function
- Maintain a professional accounting team. Responsible for the US and Europe, to ensure adherence to best practice, global processes across general ledger accounting activities, month-end close and complex technical and in-country accounting issues, internal controls and assist with any financial reporting preparation
- Active member of the Global Finance leadership team
- Manage the delivery of controllership activities, which includes US GAAP financial reporting, ensuring that all service levels are met, the internal control environment is robust and a quality service is provided.
- Liaise with the external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretarial representatives on necessary statutory requirements
- Oversight and responsibility the execution of quarterly finance activities and reporting
- Oversight and responsibility for European cash management and partnership with the global treasury team
- Oversight and responsibility for all statutory reporting compliance for Europe
- Oversight and responsibility on all in-direct taxes e.g. VAT, Sales and Use, ESG-related, etc.
- Oversight and responsibility for all SOX, reporting and reconciliation compliance
- People: Lead a team of 55+ individuals based in North America and Europe, set team direction, organizational strategy and support the growth and development of the international accounting team while promoting a culture of customer service, openness, teamwork, mutual trust and respect
- Develop strong career path, succession planning and growth oriented culture to allow the team to realize the vision of the CFO, and CAO in structuring the team to support current and future business growth
- Building an environment to identify and foster talent development, enabling growth, leadership building a strong group of future business leaders and Global Business Process Owners
- Develop a solution-centric culture in our central finance organization with highly collaborative relationships with the relevant global and regional stakeholders
- Control environment: Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP, SEC and other legal reporting requirements.
- Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected
- Coordinate and oversee the Sarbanes Oxley activities relative to internal controls documentation and testing and segregation of duties
- Process, technology and service: Provide global process leadership for the Controllership function
- In coordination with Corporate Accounting and other x-functional stakeholders, establish process, controls and reporting related to European ESG mandates
- Define, analyze, evaluate and publish relevant key performance indicators
- Support deployment of other tools and applications in support of the accounting function and highlight opportunities for improvement, managing projects that will yield efficiency through automation, optimization and outsourcing
- Evaluate and implement Artificial Intelligence and /or RPA to drive further efficiency and effectiveness in our delivery of accounting services
- Acquisitions and Divestitures: Lead planning, integration or separation of financial operations, as appropriate.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree Finance or Accounting required
- Master's Degree Finance or Accounting preferred
Work Experience
- Minimum 12 years Minimum 12+ years of PQE experience required
- Minimum of 7 years of senior management experience required
- 10+ years in a senior leadership role with demonstrated experience managing a global finance function/team with a US headquartered company required
- Multinational experience dealing with a variety of subsidiaries including the requirements of international tax structures preferred
- Qualified accountant i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA preferred
- Strong project management experience, including the ability to coordinate and enable new initiatives or processes and be the voice of International Accounting across the business preferred
- Asia Pacific and Latin American experience preferred
- Previous Shared Service Centre with multinational publicly quoted company experience preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to build strong relationships with a broad set of stakeholders that have diverse interests
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and retain top financial talent and ability to build and maintain high performing teams
- Strong communication and people skills, an understanding and practical application of the challenges of operating across multiple geographies
- Experience of BI tools an advantage
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficient in SAP or similar ERP
- Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills i.e. ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of region, division and corporate functions
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively, while managing ambiguity and adapting to changing business needs and priorities
- Advanced project management, meeting facilitation, written/oral communication and presentation skills
- Ability to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times
