Tooling Engineer

Department: Tooling

Job Summary

  • Responsible for local tooling projects, including optimization of production processes, participation in SME global teams and projects, tracking trends - local, regional and global harmonization projects, TTEP projects with regards to tools usage and utilization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for local tooling projects, including optimization of tooling processes for production use.
  • Propose and evaluate suggestions for tooling process improvements from quality, output, and efficiency perspectives.
  • Monitor tools to ensure efficient production and the highest product quality from a tooling perspective.
  • Evaluate and recommend tool replacements, procurement of new tools, and tool repairs; submit proposals to Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality Managers.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of tooling process standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment plans for the tooling department.
  • Support the introduction of new products and technological methods by ensuring proper tool condition and readiness.
  • Develop and implement practices and procedures to improve tooling processes and ensure profitability and quality.
  • Evaluate and recommend best practices (internal and external) to keep Kovin’s tooling processes competitive and up to date.
  • Support customer relationships in cooperation with Sales and Quality Assurance departments.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of employee training programs in collaboration with Engineering and Production Managers.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in production or manufacturing technology.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent IT proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP).
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Good judgment – makes timely and effective decisions; handles problems calmly and responds reasonably in stressful situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility; accepts and supports change.
  • Strong understanding and consistent application of company procedures and policies.
