Job Summary
- Provides expertise and support to business functions, departments, managers and employees on human resource topics in the areas of employee engagement, talent management, compensation and benefits, recruitment, HR systems and learning & development.
- Leading and supporting HR programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the HR Manager and the business as appropriate with the implementation of critical ‘global’ ®ional’ and key ’local’ HR projects and initiatives.
- Manage the recruitment and selection for all positions (screening, interviews, aptitude tests, references, medicals, offers etc) in conjunction with Talent Acquisition team.
- Responsible for preparation of all contracts of employment for M1 level hires and below.
- Responsible for managing, delivering employee induction/on-boarding, ensuring robust induction and role specific training plans are in place for all new hires.
- Support department managers with training for all new hires, via Connect 2 West and with promotions/ talent development via LMS.
- Support the monthly payroll and all associated queries. Liaising with Payroll Specialist, Managers, employees and payroll provider.
- Support the design of key compensation & benefit arrangements. Provide support to employees, managers and Payroll Specialist. Ensuring employee briefings are delivered as required on company benefits.
- Lead the review and updating of all company HR policies, procedures and related documentation to ensure business is compliant with the prevailing employment legislation in Ireland, EU and in line with West policies and procedures.
- Support Training Specialist with the training requirements for Waterford site and ensure West’s training and development is compliant with industry and regulatory expectations.
- Guide managers in the management of employee performance issues to both manage and raise performance.
- Lead & deliver monthly HR Mgt review with SLT & next level managers supported by HR Manager
- Supporting the annual performance management process in WTG by assisting employees with queries and tracking and driving completion rates.
- Support with the identification and development of talent for succession planning, and career path development.
- Design and run communication sessions on HR topics throughout the year linked to HR calendar, (Performance reviews, Comp Planning, Succession Planning, Engagement, Recognition etc.)
- Support training & Training specialist for the site thru the LMS system and established the training curricula/matrix for each role.
- Support the development of training material and competency-based assessments and requalification process if required to ensure training deliverables and competency of trainees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the site to drive employee engagement activities and initiatives and key actions
- Responsible for scheduling and facilitating focus groups quarterly with employee group’s to identity and drive actions to support employee engagement.
- Design, develop and continuously update Employee Handbook, Career’s guide, Benefit booklet and Manager Toolkit any other HR developed and owned guides.
- Responsible for having monthly meetings with all manager’s you are HRBP for to ensure HR are supporting and addressing the needs of both them and their team. Also, to help drive HR initiatives.
- Attend Tier 3 meetings and HR Tier meeting weekly.
- Maintenance and continuous improvement of the HR software systems to include liaision with the relevant software suppliers and corporate IT e.g (SAP HC, ADP, WTG, HR Sharepoint etc...
- Responsible for the coordination and or support of various HR / business initiatives, e.g. Employee Wellness, Investors in People, West without borders etc.
- Responsible for the monthly reporting of all key HR KPI data and Employee metrics.
- Act as a change agent.
- Lead and demonstrate corporate social responsibility through both corporate and local initiatives.
- Act in accordance with the company’s Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.
- Compliance to all local site Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
- Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures and corporate policies
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business- Related Discipline or equivalent experience
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role

- Engagement, communications and front line/first line support to employees and managers.
- Experience with negotiating & influencing managers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation
- Experience in stakeholder management

- Manage conflicting priorities to tight deadline and to a high quality
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter.

- Strong competence in IT.

License and Certifications
- Human Resources\SHRM-SCP preferred
