Job Summary:

The Sr Director, Operational Excellence leader has the responsibility and oversight in developing and advancing capabilities and competencies in the West Enterprise culture and passion of continuous improvement and driving a transformation in efficiency to deliver business excellence and value across the organization to our customers and patients.

The incumbent will be a change agent to drive global processes in the culture of right first time and continuous improvement; the role will lead the talent, learning and training development/deployment of Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean and Design for Reliability and Manufacturing tool sets and to work closely with key stakeholders internally and be a business partner to functions across West to drive the continuous improvement culture.  This individual will also provide the strategy deployment process across West and drive the West Business Systems to best in class measurements and indicators.  This role understands and aligns functional strategies and objectives to the overall West business strategy on a continuous basis in order to achieve objectives in support of the West vision, strategic direction and metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing a team of Operational Excellence leaders globally and provide strategic direction for the global operational excellence functions across the network.
• Liaise with and provide operational excellence business excellence partnerships to internal key stakeholders across West functions.
• Drive the development and sustainable maturity of the West Business Systems (WBS).
• Responsible for cost down and lean savings targets and partnering with each function to drive strategic initiatives and annual objectives with clear milestones and KPIs to achieve goals.
• Mentor and provide guidance to the community of operational excellence/lean leaders across the company.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in areas of Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Statistics and/or Management
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in global roles driving operational excellence or continuous improvement programs
• Proven track record and accomplished practitioner of six-sigma, lean, design excellence and structured problem solving skills.
• Significant experience working with large data sets from multiple systems and sources.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Previous roles in manufacturing and corporate leadership
• Lean, Agile, DRC or Six Sigma certification a plus – e.g,, Master black belt and possess demonstrated experience using tools and methodologies
• Project Management certification is a plus
• Demonstrated experience working in global roles managing across different stakeholders
• Finance, Business and Change management acumen
• Excellent communicator, leadership and collaboration
