Job Summary
The Senior Instructional Designer, Sales & Product Training is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and improving learning solutions that strengthen commercial capability, expand product knowledge, and improve sales effectiveness. This role equips sales and other customer-facing teams with the knowledge, skills, tools, and confidence needed to communicate value clearly, support product adoption, and execute consistently in the market.
This position partners closely with Sales Leadership, Product Management, Marketing, Commercial Excellence, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify capability gaps and deliver targeted training and enablement solutions. Key areas of focus include sales onboarding, product and portfolio training, launch readiness, sales messaging, consultative selling, objection handling, competitive positioning, and ongoing field development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to identify learning needs, performance gaps, and business goals.
- Analyze learner and business needs to design effective training solutions.
- Design and develop role-based learning for onboarding, product training, launches, and sales development.
- Create key instructional materials, including objectives, storyboards, assessments, guides, and job aids.
- Develop engaging learning across eLearning, instructor-led, virtual, blended, and scenario-based formats.
- Translate complex technical, clinical, and commercial content into clear, practical training.
- Support launch readiness with training plans, certification materials, and reinforcement tools.
- Manage LMS content and measure training effectiveness to continuously improve learning outcomes
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, Business, Marketing, Communications, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field required
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in instructional design, sales training, product training, enablement, curriculum development, or related Learning & Development work.
- Experience designing learning solutions for adult learners in corporate, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, technical, or other regulated environments.
- Experience supporting sales, commercial, field, customer-facing, or other business-facing audiences preferred.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong experience with eLearning authoring tools (EasyGenerator & Articulate preferred) and digital learning technologies to design and develop engaging, high-quality training.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, and curriculum development for role-based learning programs.
- Ability to translate complex business, product, technical, clinical, and compliance information into clear, learner-centered content.
- Experience using LMS data, assessments, certifications, and learner feedback to measure effectiveness and improve training outcomes.
- Strong collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders, present recommendations, and maintain high-quality, audit-ready materials. #LI-NJ1 #LI-Hybrid
